Chapter Eighty-Five: Has Meng Tian on the other side turned on some kind of vision hack?
BW Esports Club.
Wen Yang sat in his seat, focusing intently on his ranked match.
On the screen of his phone, Nako Ruru dropped from the sky and claimed Agudo's head.
"Brother Heng, are you sure you won't come out with us?" Jinxiu, the team's laner, walked over and patted Wen Yang on the shoulder.
Not far away, the players could be seen laughing and joking.
They had just finished dinner together.
There was no training scheduled for tonight, and everyone wanted to leave the base and enjoy Kyoto's dazzling nightlife.
When a hobby becomes a profession, the original passion often fades little by little through repetition. Economics has a term for this: the law of diminishing marginal utility.
As professional players, they trained at high intensity every day—either grinding through tedious mechanical drills, teamwide practice, or scrimmages.
In short, most of their time was spent in the canyon.
So when most pro players finally had free time, the last thing they wanted to do was play the very game they had fought so hard for.
But Wen Yang was different. Even after such intense training, he still loved the game. For him, eating dinner and then playing a game or two was one of life's small joys.
As for streaming, he always filled his monthly quota by the middle of the month. He was not streaming now simply because he was too lazy.
"Still playing? Come on, let's go. Brother will take you to see the beauties of Kyoto!" Jinxiu slapped Wen Yang on the shoulder, grinning wickedly.
"Nope. I'm in a peak-ranked match. You guys go have fun." Wen Yang kept operating with full concentration.
After finally sending Jinxiu and the others off, Wen Yang turned his attention back to the game.
"This game, my pacing should be fine, but why does it feel like we're not actually ahead?"
Early on, he had force-dived the enemy marksman twice, crushing him completely, and Kanghis Khan's growth had skyrocketed.
Wasn't that supposed to be enough?
In an instant, Wen Yang understood where the problem lay.
The solo lane had already blown up in silence.
That was absurd.
From start to finish, the enemy had been fighting and grouping on the bottom side; they had never once gone down to support the lane!
In other words, the bottom lane had collapsed entirely because the enemy's Montagne had completely suppressed Wen Yang's Flower Blade.
"This Flower Blade can't even hold the tower? What, is he some stubborn fool stuck at twelve hundred points? Can't he see the gold and level gap?"
Wen Yang shook his head. After clearing another mid wave, he prepared to head bottom and cut down Montagne.
...
Lin Hao kept shoving the lane.
Ahead, by the second tower, Flower Blade stood there quietly, and the minion wave no longer moved.
Lin Hao guessed that Flower Blade's plan was probably this: "I'll clear the wave with my heavy sword skill and then run. Even if you can dive me, can you really kill me in one shot?"
However, at that moment, Lin Hao's eyes suddenly sharpened. He controlled Montagne to drop his defensive stance and turned to run.
"Anger value from Wen Yang: +200."
As expected, Wen Yang was already on the way.
At first, Lin Hao had only been ninety percent sure, but after hearing the system prompt, everything became clear.
Because of Lin Hao's advantage in the bottom lane, his four teammates had gathered mid and begun pressuring the middle tower.
The enemy's silhouettes also gradually emerged within his team's vision.
Lin Hao did not need full vision. With only a little, he could already sketch in his mind what the enemy was doing and what they were about to do.
It was like a Chinese character with half of it covered up; a normal person could still make a decent guess at the shape and know what it was.
Nako Ruru's position had never appeared at all, so in the enemy movement diagram, her trajectory had always been missing.
She might have gone to take the red buff, or she might have been somewhere on the top side.
But the most likely possibility, for a capable jungler whose vision had disappeared, was that she was on the way to start a play.
Two seconds later, Nako Ruru appeared, flying on the back of her hawk.
By then, Flower Blade had already given up on baiting under the tower and was silently charging toward Lin Hao.
Nako Ruru plus Flower Blade—at this stage, Montagne fighting two alone was still rather difficult to handle.
Especially since Lin Hao's build was brutally aggressive.
It began with boots against physical damage, then Black Cleaver, followed by a Guardian Armor as a fill-in, and then straight into Mastery Blade, Infinity Edge, and Sunderer.
This kind of build dealt enormous damage, while his toughness depended entirely on Montagne's frontal stance and the fifty-percent damage reduction from charging.
Against the burst from Nako Ruru and Flower Blade, it was very hard to withstand.
Nako Ruru seemed unwilling to give up. She closed in on Lin Hao's Montagne at terrifying speed.
Lin Hao hurriedly used his first skill to create distance and flee.
Seeing this, Flower Blade immediately flashed in to follow!
Although she failed to cancel the after-gesture and land an attack, her roll still carried her right beside Lin Hao.
And Nako Ruru's ultimate was almost over. Wen Yang dragged the ultimate wheel a second time, and with a heavy drop, he came crashing down.
At last, Lin Hao used Flicker, instantly widening the gap. Nako Ruru's inevitable ultimate somehow missed completely.
"Anger value from Wen Yang: +300."
"Damn it, even that was dodged!" Wen Yang said angrily.
With no follow-up skills left, they could only retreat for now.
Flower Blade did catch up to Montagne, but seeing him once again assume a defensive stance while moving backward in crab-like steps, she had no choice but to abandon the chase.
This gank had failed.
"Does the enemy Montagne have wallhack or something? Why does he back off the moment I come to gank? When I'm not here, he pressures so aggressively."
Since Wen Yang was playing alone and had muted voice chat, he muttered to himself in complaint.
It was also possible that his map awareness was simply good and he had noticed Wen Yang was coming.
"This is what game sense is!"
Lin Hao was careful on this point. After all, the jungle was nearly the most threatening position to a side laner. If Wen Yang caught him, Wen Yang's enjoyment value would probably shoot up instantly. At that point, if it offset against the anger value, Lin Hao would be crying himself sick in the bathroom.
Meanwhile, the fight in mid was still ongoing. In a four-against-three, Lin Hao's team was incredibly fierce; they dove under tower and took down Angela and Liu Shan in one wave, completely scattering the enemy formation.
Flower Blade and Nako Ruru were also heading mid, preparing to chase down the low-health enemies and finish the fight.
Lin Hao watched the enemy movements closely.
With a sly grin, he said to his livestream audience, "We're not taking the front fight this time. We're going straight to take the second tower in the bottom lane!"
