Volume 1, Chapter 42: Zhou Jinghuai, You Bastard!
The old lady’s words lingered in Zhou Jinghuai’s mind for quite a while.
With the year-end approaching, Grace Group was flooded with affairs. Negotiations for the collaboration with Mayfair were proceeding intensively and in full swing, leaving Zhou Jinghuai and Ye Wu without a single meeting for half a month.
At the close of the year, Grace Group hosted a grand banquet. Zhou Jinghuai stood alone and solitary at the cocktail party. In past years, Ye Wu would always be by his side at this time, and though he had invited her this year, she had not given him a reply.
With the president of Grace Group facing a marital crisis, women eager to climb the social ladder vied with one another to take her place.
Secretary Lin turned them all away one by one.
In the corner of the banquet hall, Zhou Jinghuai held a champagne flute, quietly gazing out at the night view of most of Capital City. A slender figure materialized behind him—Su Qihong, Zhou Jingyao’s girlfriend.
"President Zhou, is President Ye doing well lately?"
Zhou Jinghuai turned his head and quietly observed her for a moment. "She's doing all right. What about Manager Su? Do you and Jingyao have any plans to get married?"
The question was abrupt. In truth, even Zhou Jinghuai did not understand why he asked it; perhaps it was because Su Qihong bore too much of a resemblance to Ye Wu.
Su Qihong offered a faint smile. "There are no plans for marriage."
Hearing this, Zhou Jinghuai felt a sudden pang of melancholy.

When the cocktail party concluded, Zhou Jinghuai stepped into the Rolls-Royce Sweptail, a newly purchased vehicle worth one hundred million.
Zhou Jinghuai intended to give it to Ye Wu.
Hearing from Secretary Lin that her art gallery was about to open, it would serve perfectly as a grand opening gift.
The interior of the car was dim. Zhou Jinghuai unbuttoned his suit jacket, leaning back against the leather seat to close his eyes and rest. He had consumed a few glasses of light wine, which were now going to his head, flushing his face with a seductively faint red that made him intensely striking.
In the front passenger seat, Secretary Lin ran his hand over the interior trim, feeling an inner shock.
So this was what a hundred-million-dollar luxury car felt like!
Zhou Jinghuai instructed the driver to head to Ye Wu’s apartment, but Secretary Lin remembered something and spoke up. "I happened to run into Mrs. Chen earlier. Spearheaded by her, Madam has an appointment tonight with a second-tier actor to discuss an endorsement deal."
A second-tier actor, in Zhou Jinghuai's eyes, was equivalent to a fresh young piece of meat.
Displeasure pooled in Zhou Jinghuai’s heart. He asked Secretary Lin for the location and directly told the driver to head there.

Yinshi Club.
After talking with the actor for two hours, Ye Wu finally finalized the contract: a two-year endorsement deal worth three million annually, signed all at once.
The actor was very young and innocent. Ye Wu had negotiated with his manager, and afterwards, they shared a glass of wine together.
Knowing Ye Wu’s capability and the respect she showed others
