Just a few words to say—

Eu Sou Mesmo um Apaixonado Desafiando os Céus 816 words 2026-08-04 07:23:11

I must admit that the reason I wrote this book stems from a certain personal selfishness of mine.

Over the years, I have written Xianxia, Western fantasy, and traditional fantasy—though mostly fantasy—and I have achieved some very good results.

Yet, I had never tried urban fiction.

Blinking and finding myself past forty, I suddenly realized that many of the events and people I had experienced in my life were never reflected in my own books.

That truly was a huge regret.

I wrote about Wei Lin playing basketball because back in college, I was indeed on my department's basketball team, playing as a point guard.

Well, standing at only 172 centimeters with mediocre athletic ability, despite my decent passing and court vision, I was still replaced by a newcomer—a powerhouse from the sports academy.

I felt quite defeated at the time, yet I also understood that with my height and athletic level, it was indeed difficult to achieve much in basketball.

Therefore, I let Wei Lin make up for the regrets I once held.

Working out is much the same.

At a body weight of 73 kilograms, my squat maxed out at 160 kilograms, my deadlift reached around 180 kilograms (thanks to my long arms), and my bench press limit was 100 kilograms.

Yet, these were results that took me seven years of effort to achieve.

To be honest, watching the young lads at the gym surpass me in just a year or two didn't feel entirely pleasant.

When it came to sports, I truly lacked any real talent; hard training could never outmatch those gifted freaks.

However...

Haha, when it came to chasing women and romantic pursuits, I seemed to have a bit of a hidden talent.

Over the span of more than forty years, any girl I fancied in reality, as long as I pursued her seriously, ultimately ended up becoming my girlfriend.

To this day, I have an undefeated record in this arena. I have never been dumped by anyone; it was always I who did the dumping.

One could call it a hundred battles, a hundred victories.

Thus, this gave birth to the concept of the affection value system, daring to accumulate power through such a method.

My weaknesses, I wanted to mend somewhat through this book.

My strengths, I wanted to flex a bit through this book, while also writing down the people and events I had experienced.

When I grow old and can no longer remember many things, I can pick up this book, flip through it, and know what I once lived through.

And this is the original intention and origin of this book.

I hope everyone can read through it, and I hope you will continue following the chapters. For those book friends who have monthly votes, I would greatly appreciate it if you could cast one.

Lastly, I cup my hands in a traditional bow to express my sincere gratitude.
