As soon as Zhu Yourong spoke, it was as if Zhu Biao had received a signal, and he blurted out, "If it’s like this every day, why don’t you just stay here? I don't think Brother Jiang would object."

Zhu Yuanzhang immediately followed up, "Yes, that’s fine. I agree."

"Exactly. Jiang Lin must be bored all by himself. Let Yourong keep you company," Empress Ma added.

After some deliberation, the old Emperor painfully chose to leave his daughter at Jiang Lin’s residence, as he truly could not think of any other way to win Jiang Lin over. Besides, if he wanted to come visit his daughter later, Jiang Lin couldn't very well stop him, could he? The old Emperor couldn't help but chuckle internally, feeling like a genius. It just so happened that his daughter was quite interested in Jiang Lin’s place, so it wasn't exactly a grievance to her.

Jiang Lin was left bewildered: "Wait, what? Hey, no! Shouldn't you at least ask for my opinion? Although... I suppose I wouldn't actually refuse..."

Before Jiang Lin could react, Zhu Yourong stood up from the sofa. Acting like the mistress of the house, she said to Zhu Yuanzhang, Empress Ma, and Zhu Biao, "Father, Mother, Brother, it's getting late. You should return to the palace now. I’ll see you out!"

After Zhu Yourong returned to the room, she locked eyes with Jiang Lin, who was still sitting on the sofa.

Her gaze darted away. An inexplicable awkwardness filled the air. She felt too shy to look at him, her cheeks flushing a faint red.

And so, their cohabitation began.

Neither of them spoke, causing the atmosphere in the room to turn slightly intimate.

"What shall we do now?" Zhu Yourong asked first.

Jiang Lin stood up and walked over to her. "Well, let's..."

"What are you going to do?" Zhu Yourong asked, looking puzzled.

Jiang Lin chuckled lightly. "I’m going to show you to your room!"

The room was quite spacious and furnished simply: a bed, a nightstand, a writing desk, and a wardrobe.

"Mhm, this room is lovely. I like it very much," Zhu Yourong said, looking around and nodding with a smile.

Jiang Lin grinned. "I'm glad you like it. I'll take my leave then."

He turned to walk away, but Zhu Yourong suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Wait a moment, don't go yet."

"What is it?" Jiang Lin asked, confused.

Zhu Yourong replied, "I... I want to tidy up the room. Could you stay and help me?" She blinked, looking at him with a pitiful, pleading expression.

Under the gaze of her large, watery eyes, Jiang Lin quickly surrendered. He had no choice but to compromise. "Alright, alright. Wait here for a moment, I'll go get some tools!"

Soon, Jiang Lin returned with a vacuum cleaner.

"What is this?" Zhu Yourong asked, bewildered.

Jiang Lin explained, "Oh, this is a vacuum cleaner. It works just like a broom!"

"Let me demonstrate. You'll understand once you see it!" He turned it on, and the dust on the floor was instantly sucked into the nozzle. The previously dirty floor became spotless.

Seeing this, Zhu Yourong’s eyes widened, and she let out an involuntary exclamation. "Good heavens, that's amazing! It just sucked it all up. Wow, it really is much more convenient than a broom!"

Jiang Lin tossed a rag to her. "You’re in charge of wiping the tables, walls, and floor, while I handle the dust with the vacuum."

Zhu Yourong blinked. "Jiang Lin, could you let me use the vacuum cleaner?"

Jiang Lin nodded and handed it over. She mimicked his movements and soon managed to clear the dust from the floor herself.

"Ahem, Jiang Lin, look at me! Am I not quite clever?" She put her hands on her hips, looking quite proud of herself.

Jiang Lin was amused by her adorable demeanor and began wiping down the surfaces with his rag...
