The newcomer was none other than Ye Aotian.

The four of them caught sight of each other in an instant, and time seemed to freeze.

Liu Dong looked at Ye Aotian, surprised to see him without a cane. He silently cursed, “The child of fate is truly different; his recovery is astonishingly fast.”

“You bastard, what are you doing here?” Whiteboard’s brow furrowed the moment Ye Aotian spoke. The tactical dagger at his waist was already gripped in reverse, a cold glint flashing ahead.

In the blink of an eye, Whiteboard darted in front of Ye Aotian.

Before Yu’er could react, the dagger was pressed to Ye Aotian’s throat.

Alarmed, Ye Aotian flipped backward several times, retreating out of the café.

Whiteboard gave chase.

Seeing this, Yu’er drew a dagger from her boot, ready to assist.

Suddenly, a cold sensation at her back—an incoming chair was hurled her way.

She nimbly dodged.

Liu Dong watched from a distance, smirking crookedly, thinking to himself, “Look at that, my crooked smile isn’t any worse than Ye Aotian’s.”

Yu’er’s mind was fixed on helping Ye Aotian, paying no heed to Liu Dong; she turned to follow them outside.

But Liu Dong suddenly transformed into a “mage,” throwing everything within reach toward her.

For a moment, Yu’er was pinned in place.

“...Excuse me, sir, your prepaid amount is a bit short,” a timid voice from the front desk interrupted.

The two shot the waiter a fierce glare, causing the young man to shrink back.

Snapping back to reality, Yu’er prepared to move, but Liu Dong pretended to hurl a plate at her again.

After several rounds of tugging, Yu’er finally abandoned the idea of leaving.

“Seeking death!” Liu Dong thought as Yu’er charged at him, silently praying Whiteboard would quickly finish off Ye Aotian.

As Yu’er leapt into the air, Liu Dong shouted, “Stop!”

Yu’er was inexplicably startled and halted mid-air, dropping down.

“Do you... have something to say?” she asked.

Liu Dong thought, “This girl’s polite for once, but she’s clearly been brainwashed by Ye Aotian’s manipulations. Who pauses mid-kill?”

“Would you like to sit, have a coffee?” he added with a smile.

“......”

“Miss, we just introduced the buttery latte and specialty tea coffee...”

Liu Dong gave the waiter a thumbs-up, thinking, “You earn money; I’m not jealous at all.”

Listening to Liu Dong and the waiter’s banter, Yu’er’s anger surged. She resolved that no matter what Liu Dong said, she would not lower her dagger.

Liu Dong smiled faintly, his upper lip curling as he watched Yu’er’s attack.

Yu’er was momentarily dazed; the aura emanating from him seemed strangely familiar, almost like a master’s.

“Why don’t you dodge?” she asked.

“Because I’m not afraid.”

“Why aren’t you afraid?”

“Simply not afraid.”

Yu’er trembled inwardly. This man didn’t seem particularly skilled—why wouldn’t he dodge? Could he really be unafraid of death?

As her doubts lingered, Liu Dong suddenly grabbed her dagger. Blood trickled down the cold blade, staining her hand.

“You...” she gasped.

I'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
