Chapter 12: Arrival at the Supreme God Realm for the First Time
"We survived. Damn it, that was a close call! We actually made it out alive!"
A brilliant white light descended from above. Qian Gu felt a warm sensation permeating his body, and Zhang Jie’s distinct voice echoed in his ears.
Opening his eyes, he found himself standing on a vast, empty platform. In the center hovered a massive, luminous white sphere, surrounded by twenty ordinary-looking doors.
'The God's Dimension... We really made it back alive...'
Qian Gu shook off his initial daze and regained his composure, scanning his surroundings. Zhang Jie was there, cradling a girl Qian Gu had never seen before. Zheng Zha, Zhan Lan, and Mou Gang were also present.
That was all.
'The Thousand-Faced Demon Lord didn't make it. That’s truly unexpected.'
The final moments had not lasted long, but for a bio-weapon like a Licker, it was more than enough time. With its desert eagle and crimson tongue, the onslaught had been overwhelming. Every one of them had been pierced; Qian Gu, in particular, had his spine shattered, with half of his body dragged away. If not for his heart still beating and some inexplicable energy sustaining him, he doubted he would have survived, like a flickering candle in the wind.
However, compared to Li Xiaoyi, he was undoubtedly lucky. At least he had returned alive. At the very last second, Qian Gu had broken through his mental threshold, his accuracy spiked, and with a stroke of luck, his bullet had struck the Licker that had grabbed him, killing it instantly.
"Regardless, we survived."
Qian Gu’s gaze fell upon the massive white sphere in the center of the platform. A surge of excitement welled up within him, an intensity that the energy near his heart could barely suppress.
Finally... finally, he had entered the God's Dimension!
"...If you don't understand the rules, just ask 'God.' You can communicate directly with your consciousness... Aside from creating a woman for yourself, do not exchange for anything else! Leave everything until tomorrow! Oh, and just pick a room; you can imagine whatever you want it to look like with your mind..."
Zhang Jie left those words behind and rushed into a door while clutching his beloved girl, leaving Qian Gu and the others on the platform.
"That guy is something else. To think he could still move that fast, and even have the energy to do that..."
Zhan Lan was about to voice her complaint, but when she turned, she saw the two men staring intently and wholeheartedly at the giant orb, their lower bodies in a somewhat unrefined state. She realized what was happening, huffed in annoyance, and stormed into a room.
The loud slam of the door snapped the two men out of their trance. Zheng Zha and Mou Gang exchanged awkward smiles before plunging back into the joy of customizing their companions. Before long, they each picked a girl, chose a room, and dashed inside, leaving Qian Gu alone on the platform.
"So shallow," Qian Gu muttered, shaking his head, though his heart felt heavy. "Luo Li was created after all. If I want to avoid the Devil Team, I have no choice but to stop Zheng Zha."
The greatest disaster for the Zhongzhou Team was the Devil Team. The cause was singular: their captain, Zheng Zha himself. By using his free creation opportunity to "resurrect" Luo Li from his memories, he had unleashed an extraordinary willpower and shocking latent potential, which led to his replication into the Devil Team.
But the Devil Team lived up to its name. Under the rule of a racist captain, the replica Zheng Zha’s experience was far from pleasant; he even lost his Luo Li. Of course, that trauma pushed the replica’s potential to explode further, and with an absurd speed of unlocking his genetic limit, he rose to become the strongest member of the Devil Team, slaughtering those who had insulted his Luo Li.
Yet, because of his nature, even after the replica Zheng Zha experienced *The Mummy* and gained a chance at resurrection, he could never bring his Luo Li back to life. Consequently, all of the replica’s hatred shifted onto the original Zheng Zha, whom he viewed as his inner demon.
The root cause lay in his enhancements. In the original story, Zheng Zha was a stubborn fool who refused to listen to advice. When told to focus on one lineage or trade for a specific skill or weapon, he refused, insisting on cultivating both a mutated vampire lineage and Chinese Qigong.
And there it was. One was of negative energy, the other of positive energy. Not only did he waste his initial resources without gaining sufficient power, but during his moment of rage, the interference between the two energy pools paralyzed him, forcing him to watch helplessly as others humiliated Luo Li.
In truth, even if Zheng Zha had optimized his enhancements, he still wouldn't have been a match for the replica Reinhard or the other members of the Devil Team. But human nature always harbours a "what if." What if he had truly exploded with enough power? What if his fury had deterred the Devil Team from their insults? At the very least, he could have died alongside Luo Li!
However, life has no "what ifs." The replica Zheng Zha’s inner demon was born that way, and during the second *Resident Evil* movie, when they entered a team battle, the entire Zhongzhou Team was wiped out by the Devil Team.
"That's why Zheng Zha’s brain is such a problem!" Qian Gu sighed, rubbing his temples with a headache. "I hope the persona I built during the *Resident Evil* movie, combined with Zhang Jie’s guidance, will be enough to talk this ape out of that bizarre, self-sabotaging enhancement."
Entering the God's Dimension was never a guarantee of safety. Qian Gu knew that before the team battle in *Resident Evil* against the Devil Team, they faced a looming threat—the Zheng Zha who would inevitably appear in the enemy ranks. If he couldn't break that threat, then... the only option left was to cheat.
"So..."
Let's check God’s exchange list first. Qian Gu first reviewed his gains from his first horror movie—the rewards and side quests—as these would determine his next moves.
First was the basic survival reward: 1,000 points.
For reversing the plot of Rain being infected by the virus: a Rank D horror side quest and 1,500 points.
For eliminating Rain early: a Rank C horror side quest and 2,000 points.
For successfully escorting the plot character out of the Hive: 1,000 points.
Before returning, he had killed a Licker, gaining 100 points. However, due to the full-body restoration upon returning to the God's Dimension, the points from that kill were effectively spent on the repair.
In other words, his total haul was one Rank C side quest, one Rank D side quest, and 4,500 points. It looked substantial, but compared to what Zheng Zha had received in his first movie, it was at least half as much. After all, the exchange rate for side quests was 1:3; one Rank C side quest could be broken down into three Rank D ones.
"The harvest is decent enough," Qian Gu thought, feeling satisfied. "Now, the critical part begins."
