Chapter 61: Twenty People, Lethal Difficulty, Final Destination
Time in the God's Dimension flew by swiftly.
Before they knew it, the tenth day arrived, which meant the time for the next reincarnation cycle had come.
The China Team stood fully prepared on the God's platform.
Over the past few days, everyone had undergone specialized training, resulting in significant improvements in their mental and physical states. They were all figures capable of holding their own now.
Well...
Except for Li Shuaixi and Kong Mingde.
Compared to the other team members, these two still had foundations that were far too weak.
"Remember, this is a team battle."
Qian Gu stood outside the pillar of light. His mage robes, more ornate and embedded with additional spells, fluttered gently, making him look more like a scholar.
With a solemn expression, he said, "Despise the enemy strategically, but take them seriously tactically. Regardless of whether the opponents are truly a weak team or a strong team in disguise, we must never hold back!"
"Understood!"
Everyone replied, including Zheng Zha.
However, Zhang Jie's expression looked vaguely unpleasant, and it was unclear what he was thinking.
"Get ready."
Lifting his hand, he pre-cast his buffs in advance. Mage Armor was an absolute must and could not be skipped. It could be said that Qian Gu had been genuinely traumatized by the classic "God-Smashing Stone."
After applying this layer of fundamental buffs, everyone stepped into the pillar of light.
"Enter the pillar of light within thirty seconds. Transfer target locked, *Final Destination 2* transmission..."
...
It was still a state between wakefulness and sleep.
When he awoke from this hazy and bewildered state, Qian Gu's expression changed slightly.
He scanned his surroundings.
*'Twenty people, just as expected!'*
It was completely maxed out.
The difficulty of a horror movie reincarnation was tied to the number of people. Theoretically, the greater the number of people, the higher the difficulty. For the God's Dimension, which only had twenty personal rooms, a 20-person difficulty was already the absolute cap.
Lethal difficulty!
Oh, or rather, twenty-one people, considering Arnold (the created human) as well.
[Survive for five days. After five days, the remaining personnel will return to the God's Dimension.]
[For every plot character that survives, 500 reward points will be awarded. If not a single plot character dies, the reward will be one Grade B horror side quest and 5,000 reward points.]
[If a reincarnator kills a plot character, 5,000 reward points will be deducted for each one killed.]
Two missions: one main quest, one side quest.
The main quest was the same old survival mission, except the survival time was 5 days, which amounted to 120 hours.
The side quest, on the other hand, was a protection mission.
In addition...
[The India Team has already entered the *Final Destination 2* world one day ago. Killing an un-unlocked-gene-lock member of the opposing team will yield 2,000 reward points and one Grade C horror side quest. Killing an unlocked-gene-lock member of the opposing team will yield 7,000 reward points and one Grade B horror side quest. Every time a member of one's own team is killed, one negative point will be recorded. Killing a member of the opposing team will yield one positive point. The final count multiplied by 2,000 will be the reward points obtained by the surviving members of both teams.]
The team battle had begun!
And it was against their "old rivals," the little monk's India Team—the inevitable first team battle for the China Team.
However, it was obvious that the China Team's rating was higher than that of the India Team.
Otherwise, the India Team wouldn't have entered first. Only teams with lower ratings, deemed weaker by the God, entered first to allow them sufficient time to make strategic layouts and borrow the existing momentum and forces within the horror movie world.
"It's actually *Final Destination*!"
Zheng Zha's voice rang out, sounding somewhat distressed. "Lori has been watching it these past two days and even reminded me about it. I never expected we'd actually end up inside!"
"Of all things, the most unsolosvable category of horror movies."
Zhan Lan pressed a hand to her forehead, not quite knowing what to say.
*Final Destination*, of all things!
It could be said to be the most unsolvable type of horror movie.
Once targeted by "Death," as time progressed, one would be murdered by "errors" that gradually expanded step by step, culminating in a result of accidental death. There was practically no such thing as survival. The destined protagonists of every installment would, at the end of a round—meaning the conclusion of the film's content or the beginning of the next—lose their favor and die in accidents.
No survivors.
The veteran members woke up one after another.
Ba Wang touched his head and asked, "Zheng Zha, do you still remember the plot?"
"Yeah."
Zheng Zha nodded.
*Final Destination 2* was something Zheng Zha had watched with Lori back in the God's Dimension, so his memory of it was still fresh.
The general plot was very simple.
A girl used a premonition to save the lives of a group of people, sparing them from dying in a highway pileup. However, in reality, Death had already predetermined their demise, and such an escape only made death come in a more terrifying fashion.
Afterward, these people died one after another in seemingly coincidental events, with some of them dying in the most bizarre ways. In the end, only the girl understood Death's intention: Death wanted them to die in the original predetermined sequence.
Therefore, the girl drove her car straight into the lake water, intending to die by the method of her own choosing. In the end, she and another man managed to escape with their lives.
"...But judging by the ending of the horror movie, Death's disaster wasn't over; it was merely postponed."
Zheng Zha looked around.
Everyone was on a bus, and they were right on Route 180, where the plot began.
"This is somewhat interesting."
Qian Gu clicked his tongue. "In other words, the India Team was dropped into this world a day before the plot started."
The China Team's current location was Highway 180, the starting point of the plot, yet the India Team had been thrown into the horror movie a full day earlier, before the plot even commenced.
Still, it didn't matter much. After all, within the entire *Final Destination* cinematic universe, there wasn't really much of a plot to speak of.
All there was were various forms of death.
Chu Xuan pushed up his glasses. "The God has circumvented the loophole. Reincarnators killing plot characters will result in a heavy penalty of 5,000 reward points. Based on the immediate impulse-driven mindset of reincarnators, the possibility of accumulating and retaining 5,000 points is practically nonexistent.
"Therefore, it is impossible to bypass this through the female protagonist figuring out a way to postpone the time of death.
"Furthermore..."
"What the hell are you guys yapping on about!"
An arrogant voice suddenly rang out, interrupting Chu Xuan's speech.
The newcomers had awakened.
The one speaking was a punk with a ring through his nose—the quintessential God's Dimension extra, a street hoodlum.
The number of newcomers was nine.
Most of them belonged to those obvious extra-type characters who didn't bring any refreshing sense of familiarity to Qian Gu, except for two individuals who stood out.
One was a soldier in full military uniform, looking as though he were returning home on leave.
The other was a young man in blue-and-white striped hospital pajamas.
*'They were actually able to get in here too?'*
Qian Gu raised an eyebrow, but considering the horror movie they were currently in, he roughly guessed the reason.
"Senior Colonel! Lieutenant Wang Xia has arrived at the designated location, requesting further action plans."
The speaker was the soldier.
With his heels clicked together, he gave an impeccably standard military salute to Chu Xuan. His posture was rigid and upright, and he gave off the impression of a very clean and pure person—much like the soldiers portrayed in official propaganda.
Perhaps deterred by the soldier's presence, the restlessness of the newcomers was barely pacified.
Chu Xuan returned the salute and said, "At ease! This is neither a military camp nor the real world. I have already mentioned in the reports sent back to the base that those who enter this place will temporarily lose their military ranks, and survival is to be taken as the primary objective above all else.
"You are now a member of the China Team, Wang Xia."
