In the blink of an eye…
Su Ming gave a cold laugh and swung his hand back in a slap. His palm slipped around the bodyguard’s arm and struck him squarely in the face.
At that instant, the bodyguard’s expression changed drastically. A howling gale seemed to tear across his face, nearly forcing his eyes shut. A streak of cold, dark shadow flashed before him, followed by an explosive force and excruciating pain.
His entire body was sent flying seven or eight meters before crashing into the flower bed beside the greenery.
The bodyguard lay in the dirt, coughing up blood in great mouthfuls. His breathing was faint and labored.
Of all his teeth, only two remained. The rest had shattered and fallen from his mouth.
Su Ming merely glanced at him before turning away and leaving without hesitation.
At that moment, Lin Ruoxue had just finished speaking with Ye Bing on the phone. After hanging up, she looked outside—only to discover that Su Ming had vanished.
The elite bodyguard her family had hired at enormous expense was gone as well.
Filled with confusion, she got out of the car. When she reached the edge of the flower bed and saw the bodyguard lying inside, his life or death uncertain, Lin Ruoxue covered her small mouth and widened her beautiful eyes. She stood there completely stunned.
She had no idea what had happened.
…
Elsewhere…
Longzhou City, at Bao Zhilin.
A long line of people stretched outside the clinic.
When Su Ming arrived, he was surprised. Was traditional Chinese medicine really this popular in Longzhou?
Seeing the dignitaries getting in and out of their cars, an idea suddenly stirred in his heart.
Perhaps opening a medical clinic would be a rather good livelihood.
His master had taught him both medicine and martial arts, and had once told him that with his left hand, he could heal the world, while with his right, he could wield a blade against the wicked.
Su Ming immediately became interested. Rather than hurry inside, he stood at the entrance and observed the number of patients waiting in line.
At that moment, inside the clinic—
An elderly white-haired man with a ruddy complexion and a remarkably robust physique sat in a chair diagnosing a patient.
He wore a white traditional training uniform and possessed an otherworldly, scholarly air. Behind him, a lively young woman busied herself at the medicine cabinets.
“Doctor Dongfang, my headaches have returned again. Is there really no way to cure them completely? The pain is so terrible that I don’t even want to live anymore.”
The patient seated in the chair was a middle-aged man.
His suit was from a luxury brand and had cost at least ten thousand yuan.
On his wrist was a Chopard watch worth more than ninety thousand yuan.

“Mr. Zhang, your headaches are the result of an old condition left over from the years when you went out to sea. Since it has been there for so long, eliminating the root of the problem will require gradual treatment. I’ll prescribe you some painkillers, along with medicine to relax the muscles and improve circulation. It will take at least a month before your condition stabilizes.”
“After that, come here every day for acupuncture. In about six months, we should be able to cure it completely.”
The elderly Doctor Dongfang opened his eyes, released the man’s wrist, and wrote out a prescription. His tone was full of confidence.
“Thank you, Doctor Dongfang!”
“You’re the only person in the entire country who can treat this illness of mine. I’ve seen so many famous doctors, but they were all undeserving of their reputations. You’re the real miracle doctor!”
Mr. Zhang was delighted. He hurriedly took the prescription and went inside.
When he reached the counter to collect his medicine, he suddenly removed his watch.
“Miss Dongfang, please accept this small token of my appreciation. Your grandfather is such a good man—he insists on refusing my gifts. Everything I sent him last month was returned.”
“I truly wanted to thank your grandfather.”
As he spoke, Mr. Zhang pushed the watch across the counter.
The girl hesitated for only a moment before opening the cabinet beside her. Inside was a pile of watches, carelessly scattered about.
“Uncle Zhang, it’s not that my grandfather refuses to accept gifts. The truth is, your watch is simply too cheap.”
“If you want to give a gift next time, put some thought into it!”
With that, the girl casually pushed the watch back.
When Mr. Zhang saw the watches inside the cabinet, he was completely dumbfounded. Even the cheapest-looking Rolex was worth several hundred thousand yuan.
Embarrassed, he gave a bitter smile and handed over the prescription.
Just then…
Su Ming walked in and went straight to the counter, his eyes scanning the medicine cabinets.
He then picked up a pen and some paper from the side and began to write.
“Please prepare one measure of each of these medicines. Thank you.”
After finishing the prescription, Su Ming casually pushed it across the counter and gave the girl a friendly smile.
The girl froze. Without even looking at the prescription, she stared at him.
“Are you joking? You come to a medical clinic and write your own prescription?”
“Do you know you could kill someone by taking medicine like that?”
Her tone had turned hostile.
He was a patient who had come seeking treatment, yet he had written his own prescription. Wasn’t he deliberately causing trouble?
“It’s fine. I’m only getting some medicine for general upkeep. It isn’t dangerous.”
“Please.”
Su Ming paid no attention to her attitude. All he wanted was to gather the medicines and treat his younger sister’s legs.
Besides, these medicines were not cheap.
“You… Do whatever you want. If something goes wrong after you take them, we accept no responsibility!”

Seeing that Su Ming would not relent, Dongfang Xiaoxiao could not be bothered to say anything more. She followed the list he had written, sorted the medicines, wrapped them into more than a dozen paper packets, and tossed them onto the counter.
“That’ll be twenty-seven thousand two hundred yuan. Scan the code to pay.”
Impatiently, Dongfang Xiaoxiao pushed a payment code toward him.
“No rush,” Su Ming said with a smile.
He picked up the packets and brought each one to his nose, smelling them one by one.
This action only made Dongfang Xiaoxiao even more irritated.
“Miss, this one isn’t right…”
Su Ming suddenly took out one of the packets and placed it on the counter.
“What’s wrong with it? Two ten-year-old wild mountain ginseng roots—that’s exactly what this is.”
Dongfang Xiaoxiao was nearly out of patience. She replied irritably, “Nonsense.”
“No. These are merely two cultivated ginseng roots, not wild mountain ginseng. And they aren’t ten years old either—two years at most!”
“The markings and the leaves are both wrong. Please replace them.”
Su Ming opened the packet and spoke with absolute certainty.
“Bullshit!”
Dongfang Xiaoxiao suddenly shouted angrily.
Her outburst drew many of the patients still waiting in line over to them.
Even the elderly Doctor Dongfang turned his head and glanced over, frowning slightly. But he paid no further attention and continued diagnosing his patient.
Su Ming frowned, a trace of displeasure appearing on his face.
“Forget it. Please refund these packets of medicine.”
“I’ll keep these seven.”
He separated the medicinal ingredients he wanted and spoke again.
“Heh, you wish. You come here to cause trouble without even looking at what kind of place this is!”
“You’ll be held accountable for what you just said. You think you can simply leave? Not so easily!”
“Everyone, come and look! This man has come to Bao Zhilin to make trouble and accuse us of selling counterfeit medicine!”
Unexpectedly, Dongfang Xiaoxiao continued pressing him. She walked out from behind the counter, grabbed Su Ming by the collar, and began shouting.
More patients gathered around, blocking Su Ming’s path.
“Young man, you certainly have some nerve. This is a century-old medical establishment. Old Doctor Dongfang Shaobai is famous throughout the country for healing the sick and helping the world. How dare you claim that Bao Zhilin sells counterfeit medicine?”
A slick-haired middle-aged man in an expensive suit stepped forward with his bodyguards and blocked Su Ming’s way.
