Free Endorsement!
The moment these words were spoken, the entire room fell into a stunned silence, so quiet one could hear a pin drop.
Yao Qier was dumbfounded!
Lin Wanyu was shocked!
Lu Weiwei and Ellie were utterly stunned!
“Miss Tan, isn’t this… a bit inappropriate?”
Lin Wanyu was the first to regain her composure, feeling her hand tremble slightly as she shook hands with Tan Shuying.
It wasn’t the kind of excitement a fan feels toward their idol; rather, it was a surge of cautious hope, like a blessing in disguise.
Tan Shuying was a top-tier actress, an award-winning film queen, known in the industry as “Madam Tan.” Her endorsement fees started at fifty million yuan, and it was rumored she once endorsed a foreign cosmetics brand for as much as one hundred million yuan.
And now she was voluntarily offering to endorse for free?
Such happiness came too suddenly; even Lin Wanyu, who had weathered many storms, felt this was unreal, like a dream.
Compared to Yao Qier, who had begged and suffered countless humiliations, Tan Shuying completely eclipsed her in an instant, leaving no trace behind.
“There’s nothing inappropriate about it. Qin Chuan made the offer. Even if I had to pay to endorse, I wouldn’t refuse,” Tan Shuying said with a gentle smile.
Lin Wanyu was slightly taken aback, casting a look toward Qin Chuan filled with disbelief. Yet, for some reason, Tan Shuying’s words carried a hint of showing off and provocation.
In truth, after speaking, Tan Shuying herself felt something was off, though she couldn’t explain why she had blurted it out so impulsively. Especially after learning on the way here that Lin Wanyu was also Qin Chuan’s fiancée, an unspoken sense of rivalry quietly arose within her.
Of course, upon discovering that Qin Chuan’s actions were to break off the engagement, her vague irritation eased somewhat.
After exchanging a few polite words, Lin Wanyu casually asked, “Miss Tan, how did you two meet yesterday? Of course… if it’s inconvenient to say, that’s fine.”
“How could it be inconvenient? Qin Chuan and I met by chance. Just yesterday, he even invited me to act as his girlfriend to accompany him to Gusu City to annul our engagements!” Tan Shuying replied with a bright laugh.
The more nonchalantly Tan Shuying described their relationship, the more Lin Wanyu sensed there was more beneath the surface. Especially when she heard the words “acting as girlfriend,” her heart tightened inexplicably.
“So, their connection runs deep after all!”

With that thought, Lin Wanyu’s emotions became unbearably complex—a feeling like a child robbed of their beloved toy: helpless, wronged, unwilling to accept it.
Yet, she had to maintain a facade of indifference before everyone, which made the ordeal even more agonizing. Lin Wanyu sighed softly in her heart.
“I see now.”
Lin Wanyu quickly composed herself and once again expressed gratitude to Tan Shuying for extending a helping hand during a critical moment.
“Wanyu, no need to be so formal. We’re about the same age, so why not call each other sisters? I heard from Jin’er that you two are also close friends, and you’re just a month younger than me. Just call me Sister Shuying or Sister Tan,” Tan Shuying offered graciously.
Lin Wanyu was again briefly startled. Normally, when Tan Shuying took the initiative to be friendly, she should have been delighted. But when Tan Shuying asked her to call her “Sister,” a strange sense of defeat crept in.
Immediately, scenes from the classic drama “The Story of Huan Huan” flashed through Lin Wanyu’s mind—the plastic sisterhood, especially the countless betrayals from Sister An, sent a chill down her spine.
“What’s wrong, Sister Wanyu?”
Tan Shuying asked with genuine concern.
Lin Wanyu’s mouth twitched involuntarily. The tone, the expression, the attitude—this was getting eerily reminiscent of “The Story of Huan Huan”!
“Nothing… nothing at all!”
Her unusual expression quickly vanished, replaced by the composed demeanor of a corporate leader. Calm and collected, she smiled kindly and spoke sincerely:
“To have a sister like Sister Tan is something I would naturally cherish. Then, let’s entrust the endorsement to you. Honestly, if we paid you according to your usual rates, Lin Group might find it difficult to afford.”
Lin Wanyu stubbornly refrained from using either of the “sister” titles Tan Shuying suggested—perhaps her last act of defiance as CEO.
Seeing Lin Wanyu so quickly return to normal, Tan Shuying was a bit impressed. No wonder Qin Chuan had boasted that even she could barely hold her own against her. Setting aside the little fangirl Lan Jin, Lin Wanyu was definitely a worthy opponent.
Her figure, appearance, temperament, and abilities were no less than her own. If there was any difference, it was merely in family background, which was beyond Lin Wanyu’s control.
Besides, with Lin Wanyu’s business acumen, who could say she wouldn’t build a commercial empire in the future?
Especially with a mysterious powerhouse like Qin Chuan backing her.
So if Tan Shuying regarded her as a romantic rival, she dared not take it lightly.
“Wait… why am I treating Lin Wanyu as a romantic rival?”
Tan Shuying felt her thoughts veering off course and hastily refocused, speaking calmly once more:
“If you ever need help again, just ask. Since we’re sisters, there’s no need for formalities.”

“Sounds great! Lin Group has a series of new clothing lines about to launch. Sister Tan, would you mind shooting the endorsement ads with us today?” Lin Wanyu took the hint and smoothly continued.
This time, Tan Shuying’s composure wavered slightly. Her earlier words had been merely polite, yet Lin Wanyu took them seriously. She strongly suspected Lin Wanyu was playing dumb, but had no proof.
“So, I’ve been used as a tool.”
Tan Shuying couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. But she quickly adjusted her mindset—only someone this sharp was interesting. If everyone were like Yao Qier, a shallow and clueless weakling, it would be terribly boring.
Watching the two stunning beauties, Tan Shuying and Lin Wanyu, engage in such subtle and elegant rivalry, Qin Chuan, as a mere onlooker, found it highly entertaining. He suddenly realized he might have underestimated Tan Shuying before.
Seeing her evenly matched with Lin Wanyu, a woman of both intelligence and beauty, and even clearly holding the upper hand at the start, it seemed only the adorable and naive Lan was the true weakling here!
“No, wait—there’s actually one real weakling here!”
Qin Chuan quickly glanced toward Yao Qier, who was trying to sneak away from this hotbed of trouble. There was no way he would let her get away.
“Miss Tan, surely you’ll need someone to handle the miscellaneous tasks during the shoot?” Qin Chuan suddenly said.
Tan Shuying was momentarily startled, but quickly understood Qin Chuan’s intention—to vent on Lin Wanyu’s behalf! Yet, an inexplicable sting of bitterness welled up inside her.
“That’s right! You, um… come help out!”
Pointing at Yao Qier, Tan Shuying’s dismissive “you-know-who” was a harsh slap to the face of this self-proclaimed top actress.
“Also, Brother Chuan, didn’t I tell you to call me Shuying directly? ‘Miss Tan’ doesn’t suit our relationship.”
Seeing Tan Shuying’s flushed face and intoxicating expression, Qin Chuan sensed she was about to cause mischief. Sure enough, as soon as she spoke, Lin Wanyu’s expression darkened slightly.
“Could it be she’s jealous?”
Qin Chuan glanced at Lin Wanyu with a hint of suspicion.
