Chapter 127: Miss Long Has Arrived
Slap!
A crisp sound followed instantly.
Fu Tingxiu’s right cheek swelled up at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"You motherf—"
Slap, slap, slap!
Not giving Fu Tingxiu a chance to finish his profanity, Qin Chuan unleashed a flurry of left and right strikes. In the blink of an eye, he had slapped him more than twenty times.
The onlookers were stunned. The security guards who had been ready to intervene were particularly horrified. One moment, Qin Chuan had been surrounded by them, yet the next, he had appeared outside the circle like a phantom. Not a single one of the dozen guards had even seen how he broke through the blockade.
These guards were experienced professionals; they quickly realized something crucial: Qin Chuan’s strength far exceeded their own. They were immensely relieved that they hadn't lunged at him, or they would be the ones being beaten to a pulp.
As for the noble families and wealthy tycoons attending the banquet, they were equally shocked. They speculated about Qin Chuan’s identity, wondering how anyone could dare to assault a guest of honor right at the entrance of a gala hosted by the eldest daughter of the Long family. This was a clear sign of disrespect toward the Long family.
Qin Chuan’s slaps might have landed on Fu Tingxiu’s face, but in reality, they were a direct slap to the face of Long Wuhen. The crowd waited to see how it would end for Qin Chuan. After all, Long Wuhen had come here with the intent to expand into the Binhai market; if she didn't react to being slapped in the face, who would ever respect the Long family again? Everyone present felt that, no matter how one looked at it, Qin Chuan was doomed.
After five full minutes of continuous slapping, Qin Chuan finally stopped. Fu Tingxiu was now unrecognizable; his cheeks were swollen five or six inches thick, and blood trickled from his nose and the corners of his mouth. His once handsome white suit was a mess, splattered with blood. Fu Tingxiu was on the verge of losing consciousness, his eyes unfocused and dim, like a walking corpse.
In fact, Fu Tingxiu would have preferred to pass out completely, yet for some reason, even as he tried to fake unconsciousness, his nerves remained under constant stimulation, forcing him to stay painfully alert.
"This bizarre state must be Qin Chuan's doing." This was the only thought left in Fu Tingxiu’s mind. Even on the brink of fainting, he could clearly feel the strange looks from the people around him. He felt utterly humiliated and hopeless. His only hope was that the Long family’s guards would intervene and destroy this bastard, which was the only way to soothe his burning hatred.
"That foul mouth of yours is a sickness. If it isn't treated properly, it might be the death of you. I’m doing this for your own good; don't be ungrateful!" Qin Chuan said with an air of righteous indignation.
Fu Tingxiu was so angry he nearly spat out a mouthful of blood. On the other side, Guo Zikun didn't dare make a sound. He was actually somewhat grateful that Fu Tingxiu had drawn the fire; otherwise, his newly reattached prosthetic ear might have been ripped off by Qin Chuan.
Still, Guo Zikun was deeply puzzled. The gala at the Dragon Manor was hosted by the eldest daughter of the Long family herself. He wondered if Qin Chuan was simply ignorant and fearless, or if he possessed some unknown trump card. Doing this was no different from courting death.
"You, Qin... you're finished! And the Liu family and Lin family—your futures are gone! Miss Long will see justice served for me..."
Bang!
Qin Chuan cut off the rest of Fu Tingxiu’s words with a single kick, sending him flying like a broken kite. He landed heavily, kicking up a cloud of dust that seemed to mock his own hubris.
Fu Tingxiu felt as if his body were falling apart. He gritted his teeth, trying several times to stand, but failed. Just as he tried to push himself up with his hands, he felt a sudden, heavy pressure on his chest—someone had stepped firmly upon him.
"You’ve been beaten this badly and your mouth-sickness still isn't cured? It seems you have terminal mouth-cancer, beyond all medical help. How about I provide some 'physical therapy' and sew your mouth shut? What do you think?" Qin Chuan’s mocking voice rang out again. Fu Tingxiu felt a chill crawl up his spine; he was truly terrified now.
"No... please, no!" Fu Tingxiu whimpered, shaking his head frantically.
"Stop!"
At that moment, a low, cold voice cut through the air.
The crowd turned to look. A stunning beauty was walking toward them, surrounded by a dozen bodyguards in black, like stars orbiting the moon. It was the head of the security team who had spoken.
"Miss Long is here!"
"That punk is finished. Causing trouble at Miss Long’s banquet—he won't even know how he died."
"It's not just him; the Lin, Lan, and Liu families are all going down with him!"
"That kid is quite the talent, being surrounded by such beauties. If even one of them would go with me, I’d trade ten years of my life for it!"
"Someone get a guy with kidney failure to wake this idiot up. Don't let anyone with diabetes come near; I'm afraid he'll get a taste of the sweetness."
As the crowd murmured, Long Wuhen arrived at the scene.
Fu Tingxiu and Guo Zikun, as if finding their backbone, scrambled toward Long Wuhen, competing to recount Qin Chuan’s crimes.
"Miss Long, this asshole is causing a scene! He doesn't respect you or the Long family at all. You can't let him off easily!"
"That's right, Miss Long! Look at how he beat me. My injuries are trivial, but this is a slap to your face! This man named Qin is too arrogant; he cannot be tolerated."
Long Wuhen stared at the two pathetic figures, her expression growing colder. After a moment of silence, she said slowly, "Are you telling me how to do my job?"
"No, no, not at all!"
"We were just making a suggestion!"
Guo Zikun and Fu Tingxiu waved their hands in a panic.
Long Wuhen snorted coldly, then turned her gaze to Qin Chuan. "Is this how you always attend banquets?"
"Oh, come on! How could it be? I was in a great mood today, but these two mad dogs started barking at me the moment they saw me. I had no choice but to use this method to make them shut up! Wuhen, you don't mind, do you?" Qin Chuan asked with a smile.
Hearing herself addressed so familiarly in public, Long Wuhen frowned slightly. She wanted to retort with a sharp, "Are we that close?" but swallowed the words. For some reason, she didn't feel the intense revulsion she expected toward Qin Chuan's intimate tone.
"Enough nonsense. Come inside," Long Wuhen said, her voice flat, returning to her robotic composure.
