Chapter 135: Unleashing the Ultimate Point-Blank
Seeing A-Wei’s miserable expression, as if he had just swallowed a mouthful of excrement, Qin Chuan was quite surprised. Who would dare to run amok in the Lan family’s stronghold?
"What happened?" Qin Chuan asked with a smile.
A-Wei rolled his eyes and said, "Mr. Qin, how can you still be smiling? Well, I suppose you haven't gone inside to see the situation yet. If you can still smile after seeing it, I'll bow down to you right here."
Qin Chuan became increasingly curious about what was happening in the old mansion. With a mix of pity and confusion, he walked inside. As soon as he reached the main hall on the first floor, the scene before him hit his eyes.
"Holy crap, why are they all here?" Qin Chuan was startled by the lineup.
The living room sofa was crowded with people—or more accurately, a group of beautiful women. From left to right sat Lin Wanyu, Long Wuhen, Lan Jin, Tan Shuying, Qin Youyou, and Mo Qingqiu.
The atmosphere in the room was bizarre. Qin Chuan felt that, with the exception of Qin Youyou, all the other women were different from their usual selves. It was as if masters had encountered one another; even their auras were restrained, as if any lapse in vigilance would lead to them exposing a weakness and being defeated.
"Why does Mo Qingqiu feel so tense and guarded too?" Qin Chuan was baffled. Most of the others had some connection to him—either through betrothals or, in Lan Jin’s case, her past role as his fake girlfriend and human shield. But why was Mo Qingqiu, whom he had only met once, joining in the fray?
"Mr. Qin, can you still smile now?" A-Wei whispered, twisting the knife from behind him.
Qin Chuan’s mouth twitched. He did want to smile, but he certainly couldn't manage it. He had hoped to improve his relationship with Lin Wanyu, but after seeing this scene, that impractical notion was essentially dead.
However, this situation wasn't necessarily a "shuraba" (a scene of romantic carnage) for him. Long Wuhen had already confirmed she was calling off the engagement; Lin Wanyu’s stance was firm; and Liu Qingcheng had long ago stated she didn't mind being a concubine.
Tan Shuying was essentially an anomaly; she shouldn't have been there at all. As for Lan Jin, she clearly had feelings for him, but compared to the other women, her combat effectiveness was at the bottom of the list.
Then there was Mo Qingqiu, who likely wanted to stab him twice. She had been reasonably seated next to Qin Youyou, so even if she had any ulterior motives, she would surely restrain her emotions and avoid exposing them in front of everyone.
The only wild card was Qin Youyou. His little sister was a troublemaker who feared a peaceful life, and Qin Chuan highly suspected that the bizarre atmosphere was fueled by her interference.
"The house is so lively today! I guess I returned at just the right time!" Qin Chuan delivered an opening line with the air of a high-level boss returning to claim his domain.
Seeing Qin Chuan so composed, A-Wei silently gave him a thumbs-up. When he had first seen these stunning beauties gathered together, he had felt that the women in the outside world were no longer appealing. Especially when he realized they might all be entangled with Qin Chuan, A-Wei felt a mix of envy and jealousy so intense it made him lose the will to live.
"Darling, you’re finally back." Liu Qingcheng took the initiative to kick things off, hugging Qin Chuan’s arm and shaking it incessantly.
Qin Chuan instantly felt several icy glares focused on him. He felt confused by Long Wuhen’s gaze, smug about Lin Wanyu’s, and—regarding the glares from Tan Shuying, Lan Jin, and Mo Qingqiu—he felt a faint, ominous ache in his kidneys.
"What’s wrong? Missed me?" Qin Chuan asked with a grin.
He wrapped his arm around Liu Qingcheng’s slender waist with natural fluidity and gave her bottom a light tap, effectively flirting in public. "Since you’re so impatient, why don’t we head to my room and study human anatomy?"
As he spoke, Qin Chuan led Liu Qingcheng toward his room on the first floor. This move left all the women present stunned, especially Qin Youyou, who had been looking forward to a spectacular show and now wore a face of pure shock.
*Big brother is too bold,* Qin Youyou thought to herself. *He went straight for a full-frontal assault against all of them. Their hearts weren't united to begin with, and now they have no fighting spirit left.*
As the women stood there bewildered, Qin Chuan added, "Are any of you interested in studying ancient bedroom arts together? Let’s put our heads together; maybe we’ll break through to a supreme technique!"
"You lecher!"
"Shameless scoundrel!"
"Pervert!"
The women attacked Qin Chuan in surprising unison. Long Wuhen immediately stood up to leave; she had only come to watch the show because she learned Tan Shuying was there, and she didn't want to get dragged into the mess herself.
Qin Youyou had simply missed her brother, which was why she had used the excuse to visit the Lan mansion—after all, she had publicly declared that Lan Weimin was her life’s destination. As for his personal bodyguard, Mo Qingqiu, she was there to deliver Qin Chuan’s overseas paperwork. That job was supposed to go to Ling Qingxue, but they had sent Mo Qingqiu instead to avoid further complications.
Tan Shuying had only visited because of Lan Jin’s invitation. She hadn't expected Long Wuhen to be so bored as to attend what was essentially a family gathering. If she had known, she never would have come—though, thankfully, Long Wuhen hadn't exposed her true background in front of everyone.
"Since none of you want to, I won't force you. Bye!"
As he spoke, Qin Chuan actually pulled a still-dazed Liu Qingcheng into the room.
The other women could no longer sit still. While they denounced Qin Chuan and Liu Qingcheng for having no bottom line, a strange, sour feeling began to rise in their hearts—a feeling most severe in Lin Wanyu.
The once tense and eerie living room suddenly became quiet, leaving only Lan Jin, Qin Youyou, and Mo Qingqiu behind.
"I need to go to Qin Chuan’s room," Mo Qingqiu said suddenly.
Qin Youyou’s expression remained calm. She knew Mo Qingqiu’s background and had already spoken with Qin Chuan in secret, so she knew Mo Qingqiu wasn't going to "heroically sacrifice herself" to her brother.
But Lan Jin didn't know the inside story. Her large eyes were filled with shock, and then, as if acting out of spite, she stood up right after Mo Qingqiu and said, "No, I’m going to find Qin Chuan too!"
Now it was Qin Youyou’s turn to be shocked. She looked at Lan Jin in disbelief, thinking to herself, *This sweet, naive girl is truly in love with my big brother!*
"Sister Lan Jin, go for it!" Qin Youyou cheered, making Lan Jin blush deeply as she realized how uncomposed she had been.
"This pervert is actually quite popular," Mo Qingqiu remarked.
It was meant as a disdainful dig, but to Lan Jin, it sounded like a declaration of war between rivals. And so, the living room that Qin Chuan had finally managed to calm down once again took on a tense, confrontational edge.
