"Officer Mo, there's no need to worry. Mr. Qin has only fainted from exhaustion after administering the acupuncture. He'll wake up after some rest. However, as a precaution, he must not be moved until he regains consciousness," Li Youshan said with a smile after checking Qin Chuan's pulse.

Mo Qingqiu breathed a small sigh of relief before turning her gaze to Hu Derun. Understanding her meaning, Hu Derun quickly examined Qin Chuan as well, but afterward, he furrowed his brows slightly.

He found that Qin Chuan's condition was not as grave as his friend had claimed. It was true he had fainted from exhaustion after using the Qi Luck Needle to save the Dragon King, but a simple period of bed rest should suffice. The warning not to move him at all before he wakes was pure nonsense.

"Divine Physician Hu, is something wrong with Qin Chuan?" Seeing Hu Derun frowning so deeply, Mo Qingqiu felt a sudden, inexplicable anxiety.

Hu Derun was about to answer honestly, but out of the corner of his eye he caught Li Youshan signaling him. Years of tacit understanding allowed Hu Derun to immediately grasp his intention.

"There's no problem, Officer Mo. Brother Youshan's assessment is quite accurate. Remember, Mr. Qin must not be moved at all before he fully regains consciousness. Otherwise, it may cause his vital energy and blood to flow against its natural course, which could have dire consequences," Hu Derun said gravely.

"As long as he's fine!" Mo Qingqiu finally breathed a deep sigh of relief. But then, she suddenly became aware of a rather awkward and critical issue: Qin Chuan's entire face was currently buried in her bosom, his nose wedged right between the two peaks. Mo Qingqiu's face flushed crimson.

She longed to push Qin Chuan's head aside, but then remembered the stern warnings of the two old physicians, and quickly banished the thought.

Yet as time passed, Qin Chuan's warm breath continued to spread across the contours of her chest, sending tingling, electric shivers through her body.

"How long is this fellow going to stay unconscious?" Mo Qingqiu grew increasingly agitated, but didn't dare ask the two old doctors for fear they would see through her embarrassment. She could only silently pray in her heart for Qin Chuan to wake up soon.

What she didn't know was that, during her inner turmoil, Li Youshan and Hu Derun were already engaged in a silent exchange of glances and gestures.

Hu Derun: Aren't we setting Officer Mo up here?
Li Youshan: As long as Mr. Qin isn't in trouble!
Hu Derun: Still seems a bit unfair!
Li Youshan: As long as we're fair to Mr. Qin!
Hu Derun: What if Officer Mo finds out the truth?
Li Youshan: ...
Hu Derun: Brother Youshan, why aren't you answering?

Just as Hu Derun was waiting for Li Youshan to mouth a reply, his friend's voice suddenly sounded aloud, "Officer Mo, my stomach is feeling a little upset, I'll just go use the restroom for a moment!"

"So that's why he wasn't answering—he was trying to slip away! Cunning old fox!" Hu Derun grumbled inwardly at his friend, then quickly began thinking up an excuse to leave as well.

Mo Qingqiu nodded, wishing Li Youshan would hurry up and leave, and even hoping Hu Derun would have a stomachache and follow suit, so no one would witness her predicament.

"Officer Mo, I—"
"Divine Physician Hu, don't tell me you have a stomachache too?" Mo Qingqiu interrupted him directly.

Hu Derun twitched at the corners of his mouth, thinking his poor acting had been seen through. But then he realized her tone carried a touch of hope and delight.

Mo Qingqiu quickly realized her own reaction was inappropriate; after all, Hu Derun had been hard at work tending to her foster father's injuries. It seemed rather unkind to so eagerly wish him ill.

"Divine Physician Hu, I just meant that if you're not feeling well, you should go rest outside. I can handle things here on my own," she explained, adjusting her tone.

Hu Derun felt a weight lift from his shoulders. Yet, seeing how concerned she was for his health, would it be wrong not to warn her? But in the end, he decided against reminding Mo Qingqiu that she needn't keep holding Qin Chuan like this—especially after noticing Qin Chuan's fingers curling, as if urging him to leave.

"Mr. Qin is already awake!" Hu Derun's mouth twitched violently at this realization.

Under the eager anticipation of both Qin Chuan and Mo Qingqiu, Hu Derun made his escape like oil on polished feet, his speed reminiscent of his youth.

"Whew!" After locking the door behind him, Mo Qingqiu exhaled deeply.

"Finally, the awkwardness is over," she murmured, glancing down at Qin Chuan in her arms. Suddenly, she felt as if she were gazing at a newborn in a mother's embrace. Wait...

Given their current position, wasn't this rather like breastfeeding a baby?

As the thought struck, Mo Qingqiu's usually heroic face turned scarlet, and her breathing quickened.

"This can't go on any longer," she resolved silently, arching her body slightly backward in an attempt to shift Qin Chuan's face away from the awkward spot without altering their posture too much.

But reality proved even more unyielding than her own curves. Perhaps her figure was simply too pronounced, or perhaps Qin Chuan's nose was longer than most. The more she tried to retreat, the more firmly Qin Chuan's face became wedged, as if intent on being completely buried.

"Mmm...!" The warm breath grew stronger, the tingling sensation so intense that Mo Qingqiu couldn't help but let out a soft moan. Her heart felt as if a thousand kittens were scratching at it, and for someone known for her composure and calm, her mind was now utterly blank.

Though the episode lasted less than a minute, Mo Qingqiu was mortified. Thankfully, the only other two people in the room were unconscious; otherwise, she would have died of embarrassment.

She didn't dare move again, as every twist or shift sparked friction that sent her heart racing and face blazing. This was the most "dangerous" moment of her life.

Besides, she feared that any sudden movement might endanger Qin Chuan, and she could never forgive herself if harm came to him because of her.

"Actually, this fellow is quite interesting," she mused, not realizing that her opinion of Qin Chuan had changed dramatically since he saved Long Qianqiu. She could no longer muster any real dislike for him; even the moments when she'd been furious at his teasing now seemed merely humorous and charming.

"Hmm?" Suddenly, Mo Qingqiu felt the warmth on her chest intensify, the heat of his breath unmistakably increasing. Realizing Qin Chuan was still nestled in her arms, she grew suspicious, and her fleeting tenderness was instantly replaced by anger.

But, wanting to be sure, she didn't immediately act. Instead, she muttered, "Qin Chuan, when you're awake I can't beat you, but now that you're unconscious, isn't it time for some payback? Since you like taking advantage of women so much, maybe I should just make you a eunuch once and for all—save the rest of us some trouble."

No sooner had she spoken than Qin Chuan's head gave a slight tremor, and a faint, groggy voice emerged: "Where am I? How did I pass out?"

The sight confirmed her suspicion. With a fury to match a diva's high note, she roared, "Qin Chuan, I'm going to kill you!"

Bang!

Almost simultaneously, the door burst open and several armed guards stormed in, guns trained on Qin Chuan, clearly ready to shoot at a moment's notice.

Hearing Mo Qingqiu's furious shout, the guards instinctively assumed Qin Chuan had failed to save the Dragon King. But upon entering, they were confronted by the two of them locked in an incredibly intimate embrace.

Qin Chuan had seized hold of Mo Qingqiu to prevent her from drawing her gun, while her own arms instinctively shielded him, fearing the guards might misunderstand and open fire.

Though she was furious at Qin Chuan for taking advantage of her, he had nonetheless saved her foster father's life—a debt she could never repay.

"Besides, we already made a deal. Soon enough, I'll be warming his bed, so I might as well get used to this level of intimacy ahead of time," Mo Qingqiu began telling herself, bracing for what was to come.
