Chapter 118: Battle Against the Six Titans
Seeing the miserable state of the middle-aged man in the blue shirt, the other five were filled with both dread at Leng Tian’s formidable power and scorn for the man’s arrogance. Knowing full well that their opponent was a manifestation of the Shadow Demon, it was no surprise that such hubris would lead to disaster.
"Boss, a soul of this caliber is a truly nourishing supplement!" Judah returned to Leng Tian’s consciousness, sitting comfortably on the crimson rune and letting out a satisfied belch.
"Remember, if there is a next time, you can look forward to being bathed in lightning," Leng Tian reprimanded with a voice as cold as ice.
"Hehe... I was just acting on impulse! I was afraid such a top-tier snack would go to waste!"
Before Judah could finish, Leng Tian’s figure flickered and vanished from his spot. A scimitar swept across horizontally, accompanied by two sword auras descending from the sky, but they all struck empty air, slamming into the ice below. With a thunderous roar, the ice shattered, and the emerald seawater surged forth, only to instantly freeze again, leaving behind nothing but craters.
White-gold energy shimmered as Leng Tian slashed his blade down. "Shhh!" A brilliant white rainbow of sword light cascaded downward. Simultaneously, the other two powerhouses lunged forward.
Boom!
With a violent explosion, the warrior wielding the scimitar was blasted from the air by Leng Tian’s strike, crashing into the sea and sending a massive wave of water surging into the sky.
Holding his blade in his right hand, Leng Tian threw a punch with his left. The white-gold fist aura instantly blasted one of the approaching powerhouses away. Stepping through the void, the blade light of his Blood-Scarred Blade pulsed with dazzling brilliance.
He slashed horizontally, the seven-foot blade light transforming into a crescent moon that collided with the sword auras of the two powerhouses. "Ah..." The scimitar-wielding warrior let out a roar, erupting from the sea and launching a cyan crescent wave toward Leng Tian.
Facing the combined attacks of the five, Leng Tian’s battle intent surged. He struck three times with his Blood-Scarred Blade, shattering the incoming sword and fist auras.
A long whistle echoed through the firmament. Leng Tian’s white-gold-infused right foot slammed down into the void, a blade of condensed energy cutting through the howling wind to strike the cyan crescent. The violent energy shockwave forced the warrior who had just risen from the sea back down to the surface.
Spinning his body, Leng Tian kicked out with his right leg, colliding with another warrior’s longsword. It sounded like metal striking metal; the sword struck his leg and sent a spray of sparks flying. "Terrifying defense... his physical body is actually this strong..." The warrior was stunned, his arm numbed by the impact as his palm split open, blood dripping down the hilt of his sword.
Before he could recover, Leng Tian’s attack arrived. The snow-white blade flashed with a cold light, cleaving downward. In a panic, the warrior raised his sword with both hands, hoping to deflect the strike. With a loud "clang," the longsword was snapped in two by the massive blade. The Blood-Scarred Blade continued its momentum, slicing through the warrior’s protective aura and reaping his life.
Puff!
Fresh blood sprayed into the air. "While you're down, I'll take your life!" Leng Tian’s massive white-gold fist followed, slamming into the warrior’s chest. A dull thud accompanied the man’s final scream as his sturdy chest was punched clean through, killing him instantly.
Kill! Kill!
Two roars rang out as the remaining two sword-wielders unleashed a magnificent web of sword light. The dense barrage darkened the sky, as if night had fallen, yet it was instantly replaced by dazzling radiance—holy, yet laden with lethal intent.
Leng Tian let out a cold snort. The powerful force dormant within him suddenly stirred, and a formidable aura erupted from his body. A blinding white-gold light filled his surface, coating him like the armor of a war god.
Sheathing the Blood-Scarred Blade, Leng Tian faced their massive onslaught with his fists. White-gold fist shadows danced, surrounded by blazing golden light like serpentine coils. The immense power distorted the space around him, threatening to tear the void asunder. The overwhelming pressure pushed the other two approaching warriors back, the terrifying fluctuations leaving everyone feeling a sense of dread. Leng Tian’s fist shadows slammed directly into the center of the sword light web. A deafening roar shook the void, and a torrent of supreme energy exploded in the air.
As the two energies collided, they shone like two suns in the sky, their brilliance blinding. The massive energy flow erupted like a flash flood, forcing the three combatants back several yards.
Leng Tian slid through the air for several yards before stopping. His chest heaved violently as white-gold blood surged through his veins like a roaring river, constantly replenishing his flesh with ancestral power.
The raging energy slowly dissipated, and the wind died down. On the sea surface beneath Leng Tian, a ten-foot-wide ice crater appeared, emerald water churning and tossing up sprays of foam.
The two attackers were not faring well either. Struck by the chaotic energy, they were tossed high into the sky, feeling as though their bodies were falling apart. They looked at Leng Tian with fear; even with their combined efforts, they had failed to suppress him. Was this really the power a human could possess?
"Kid, die!" The fellow who had been kicked back onto the ice earlier roared like a beast, his eyes bloodshot.
"Then you are looking for death!" Leng Tian said with an icy tone. This intense battle had reignited his long-dormant battle intent. The feeling of pure, overwhelming power was intoxicating!
The other three gathered together, carefully guarding against Leng Tian’s counterattack. After several exchanges, they felt powerless; this guy was too fierce—he was simply not human.
They prepared to strike in unison. No one stood a chance in a one-on-one fight; their dead companions were proof of that. Facing this monster alone meant certain death if they were even slightly careless.
"This kid is clearly only at the peak of the Heavenly Realm, yet he can slaughter powerhouses like us at will. Unless he truly is a Shadow Demon, I can’t think of any other explanation!"
Among the three, a man in purple had a hand trembling as he gripped his sword. Six elder-level figures from major factions, having joined forces to surround a single Heavenly Realm warrior, were not only unable to gain the upper hand but were being ruthlessly suppressed, with two already dead. If this got out, they would have no face left to stand upon.
The scimitar-wielding warrior below heard Leng Tian’s words and felt as if he had suffered a great humiliation. He looked up and howled, appearing completely crazed.
"Boss, this guy is getting more courageous with every setback! Look, those three have huddled together; they probably don’t dare to attack you easily anymore!" Judah sat on the crimson rune with his arms crossed, his own blood boiling with excitement as he watched Leng Tian’s fierce display.
Having been suppressed twice, the scimitar warrior’s fury burned at his self-esteem. He had been famous for years and had never suffered such shame. He knew his opponent was freakishly strong, but having lived in a position of superiority for so long, he could not tolerate such a loss of face under any circumstances.
Kill!
With a sky-shaking roar, the warrior poured his true essence into his scimitar, causing it to more than double in size. As he gripped the massive blade, a surge of powerful confidence welled up within him.
"Crescent Moon Heaven-Breaker..."
With a loud shout, he gripped the scimitar with both hands and slammed his feet into the ice. An intangible aura was released, a peerless gale radiating outward in a circle. The feet of snow were whipped up by the energy, dancing in the sky.
He launched himself into the air. The enlarged scimitar glowed, razor-sharp blades of light pulsing along its edge, the energy blade extending several feet and solidifying. "Die!"
Raising the blade with both hands, he unleashed a heaven-shattering roar and swung it toward the floating Leng Tian. A crescent-shaped light, feet long and dazzling, flew toward him like a true moon from the heavens. The air shrieked with sonic booms, and the space in its path trembled as if it were about to be pierced through.
"He’s gone mad! That is his ultimate life-saving technique!"
"He’s still so impulsive, unable to take even the slightest setback. This move consumes a massive amount of true essence. If this strike fails, death will be his only reward!"
"I truly don’t know how someone with his temperament reached such a level, knowing full well that facing this monster alone is a losing game!"
The four watching from afar not only failed to offer assistance but began to mock him. Such is the fickleness of human nature; they were friends sharing jokes moments ago, yet now they treated each other like strangers.
Leng Tian’s eyes flashed with intensity. Sensing the power behind the strike, he did not dare to be careless. Caution is the foundation of longevity; sometimes, being powerful requires humility and prudence to remain steady. Overconfidence is the first step toward digging one’s own grave for a powerhouse. Two hundred years of cultivation had taught Leng Tian that the greater the power and the higher the realm, the higher the requirements for one’s state of mind. Maintaining a calm, unarrogant heart was the beacon on the path of the strong.
The attack was upon him in an instant. Leng Tian narrowed his eyes, calculating the moment to strike. Just as the massive crescent blade was a meter from his feet, the mark of the giant peak on his chest glowed with multicolored light, and a phantom of a black mountain, hundreds of feet high, appeared behind him.
Once the mountain’s presence emerged, an immense, majestic pressure descended. It was an intangible force, formless yet suppressing all other forms of energy. The incoming crescent blade halted instantly, as if frozen in time.
Seizing the opportunity, Leng Tian soared upward. With his fist wrapped in tri-colored energy, he released a long whistle and threw a punch. A multicolored fist aura the size of a giant hammer emerged, carrying an aura comparable to divine might. It left a trail in the air and slammed into the crescent moon.
The Seven-Colored Divine Essence naturally carried divine pressure. Although Leng Tian’s current cultivation was still too weak to manifest much of it, even this small amount was beyond what someone at the Profound Realm could resist.
The multicolored fist aura passed through the crescent moon like a shadow, its momentum undiminished as it slammed solidly into the scimitar-wielding warrior.
Boom!
The massive crescent moon shattered and disintegrated, its contained energy erupting toward the sky. Leng Tian flickered, dodging the shockwave, and turned to look at the four remaining powerhouses. He sneered, "What are you all waiting for? Don't you want to capture me anymore?"
Bang!
The scimitar warrior left a trail of blood in the air before slamming heavily onto the ice. The immense impact shattered the surface, and the warrior, already on the brink of death, sank into the depths of the sea with his final breath.
"Everyone, the Shadow Demon is too powerful. This is not something we can contend with. We must return at once and summon reinforcements!"
"Go! Only those who have transcended the mortal plane can capture him!"
The four powerhouses exchanged pale-faced glances, reading the same conclusion in each other’s eyes, and fled like stray dogs.
