Yang Fan and An Lan turned their heads to see a designer watch smashed to pieces on the ground.

"You are talking nonsense! Yang Fan has been sitting here perfectly fine, facing Liang He the whole time. Where would he even have the chance to steal anything?" An Lan could not help but interject.

"An Lan, just as Young Master Liang stood up, the watch was sitting right there on the table. Don't play dumb and lie to our faces."

"Exactly, An Lan. Just because Yang Fan is your best friend's husband, that doesn't mean you have to defend him like this. There are so many of us here, and we all saw it!"

The others nodded in agreement.

"You... you are all conspiring together!" An Lan shouted. Out of frustration, she instinctively looked around for security cameras, but there were no cameras in this private dining room.

"An Lan, we all saw it. He was the one who stole it, and when he got caught, he flew into a rage and smashed the watch."

Yang Fan’s eyes widened. In broad daylight, with so many people watching, could someone really call a deer a horse and manipulate the truth so brazenly? Could three people really fabricate a tiger? He thought to himself, are there really people in this world more shameless than I am? Are they bullying me just because I’m not from Tianhai?

"You people have gone far enough. And Liang He, even if you like Wang Yun, you can’t frame Yang Fan like this!"

"Don't talk nonsense. There are so many people here, and they all saw it! Tell me, are we calling the police, or are you going to pay for it? This watch is worth over three million!" Liang He narrowed his eyes.

Outside, Wang Yun and Xiao Yu hurried in.

"What happened?"

"Wang Yun, your husband stole Liang He’s designer watch worth over three million and smashed it to pieces!"

Beside Wang Yun, Xiao Yu’s body trembled. Over three million? That much?

"You're lying! You are all conspiring! Wang Yun, I can testify that they are working together. Yang Fan has been sitting here the entire time."

"An Lan, we all saw it. I doubt your testimony alone will carry much weight at the police station!"

The surrounding crowd began to whisper and point fingers. Yang Fan remained calm, as did Wang Yun. Naturally—among A-Ying’s collection, there were over a dozen watches far more expensive than this one. Why would they care about a measly three-million-dollar watch?

"You are all lying, I clearly..."

"That’s enough, An Lan, stop talking," Wang Yun interrupted.

"But Wang Yun, that’s over three million!"

Liang He sneered. "What do you want to do?" Yang Fan asked directly.

"I said it already. Either we call the police—think about how many years you’ll spend in prison for stealing something worth three million—or you pay for it. Of course, if you don't have the money, you can sign an IOU, but Wang Yun must become my secretary and pay it off slowly."

"So that last part is your true objective," Yang Fan sneered. He continued, "What if I divorce Wang Yun? Can I pay the debt myself then?"

"You are a married couple; you have a marriage certificate. It’s a joint debt. Even if you divorce, she still has to pay her share," Liang He replied.

Yang Fan smiled and nodded. It seemed no matter what, Wang Yun was destined to be his secretary.

"Liang He, don't go too far. We are all classmates."

"Yeah, Liang He, why make things difficult for a married couple?" Xiao Yu and An Lan added. This class reunion had truly opened their eyes to the nature of these people; it was all a setup.

"I’m not making things difficult for them. Of course, you can choose to call the police, but if the reputation of a special police officer’s husband being a thief gets out..."

Yang Fan chuckled coldly. "I remember a few months ago, someone said something similar to me. I think calling the police is too simple!" His gaze sharpened as he pulled out his phone.

Seeing Yang Fan’s movement, Wang Yun grabbed his hand and said, "They are my classmates. Please, spare them, honey."

The room erupted in laughter.

"Wang Yun, who do you think your husband is?"

"Yeah, Wang Yun, being with our Young Master Liang is much better than being with a thief!"

Even Liang He was amused. With the way Yang Fan was dressed, his entire outfit probably cost less than five hundred.

"Shut up!" Wang Yun barked, though her words only invited more laughter. She kept her hand on Yang Fan’s. "Is that okay, honey?"

"Sure, whatever you say," Yang Fan smiled at her.

Wang Yun nodded, touched. If she let Yang Fan take action, the Liang family would go bankrupt instantly, as their total assets of a few tens of millions were not enough for people like A-Jiu to even break a sweat. But she was kind-hearted; she would treat this as settling the debt of Liang He chasing her for four years.

"How much money? Give me the exact figure."

"Three million, five hundred and seventy thousand!" Liang He said.

"Give me your account number," Wang Yun said directly. Suddenly, the laughter in the room died out.

"You... you can actually afford to pay?" Liang He gasped. Even Xiao Yu and An Lan found it unbelievable—that was over three million, not thirty thousand!

Wang Yun suddenly smiled—the first time Liang He had ever seen her smile at him like that.

"Do you know why I don't believe my husband would steal your watch?"

Liang He shook his head.

"My pair of earrings is two million, my necklace is four million, and my ring is six million. And, aren’t you looking for a watch?"

Wang Yun took her bag, opened it, and pulled out two watches. Liang He was stunned, as he recognized these models—they were limited editions, each worth over nine million.

"Limited editions?" The room gasped.

"Count yourself lucky to have an eye for them. Of course, there’s plenty more in my bag. I calculated that just one item in here is worth half of the Liang family’s total assets. And this is just what I brought with me today!"

The room was shocked once more. She was carrying half the Liang family around with her.

"I’m not telling you how much money I have, but stating a fact: even if something worth three million were sitting right in front of us, we wouldn't even glance at it!"

Silence fell over the room.

"Alright, give me the account number. I’ll transfer it now."

Liang He hesitated. How could Wang Yun have so much money?

"What? No card? That’s easy to fix!" Wang Yun smiled again, tapped her phone a few times, and soon received a notification. She entered the account number without hesitation. Less than a second after she closed her phone, Liang He’s phone pinged with a deposit notification.

"How... how did you have my account number?"

"It’s done. The money has arrived, and we are square," Wang Yun said, picking up her bag.

"Wang Yun, wait!" Liang He shouted, scrambling to his feet.

Wang Yun paused and sighed. "Really, Liang He, don't harbor any more ideas about me. Your tens of millions in assets really aren't enough for my husband to deal with. I’m warning you out of kindness. I won't pursue this matter further, so don't be your own undoing."

"And to all my classmates, from today on, let us never meet again. Honey, Xiao Yu, An Lan, let’s go."

Liang He sat slumped in his chair, feeling utterly lost. Suddenly, he looked at the account number that had received the money—it was the account he used for the financial dealings of the Fanmei Resort. And that account was strictly for business transactions related to the resort.

"He... he is..."
