Chapter 129: The Anti-Hulk Brick
Fury’s face turned livid.
The properties of Adamantium are such that once shaped, it is permanently set. The little brat actually used it to make a brick!?
Fury felt like vomiting blood; his heart ached so much!
Tony wore a dazed expression. He had considered that Luke might be unreliable, but he never expected him to be *this* unreliable!
Hill suppressed a laugh and turned away.
Luke was completely oblivious to the varied reactions of the trio, still immersed in his own excitement. From this moment on, he could proudly declare: his Street Fighter graduation was complete!
Luke was moved to tears.
Thinking back to the old days, he had spent years grinding without ever completing his "Illusion" set—how tragic. But look at him now; he possessed a legendary artifact: the Adamantium brick!
As the great Lu once said: "Is a brick not the best weapon for a brawl? Don't swing it wildly; aim for the head. If one doesn't finish them, hit them again!"
Before the Street Fighter's brick-smashing technique, it didn't matter if you were the Hulk or Thor; one solid brick to the skull, and you’d be down for the count whether you liked it or not.
The ordinary brick in his storage space could now retire with honor.
Glancing at the remaining alloy liquid in the container, Luke really wanted to embezzle it on the spot.
Unfortunately, Fury was watching from the side. Wait, why did Fury's face look so strange? Could he be excited after seeing his Hulkbuster design?
Luke composed his expression and coughed lightly. "Ahem, believe me, with this thing, I can restrain the Hulk."
Fury’s face remained dark. After a long silence, he left with a single remark: "It better be." Then he walked away.
Tony, looking gleeful, shook his head and exited the laboratory as well.
Without hesitation, Luke reached out to grab the remaining alloy liquid.
"Don't even think about it." Fury’s silhouette reappeared in the doorway, his one eye fixed on Luke. He pointed at his own eye, then at Luke, and said, "I am watching you."
Luke sighed. He sheepishly withdrew his hand, his young face filled with regret.
Outside, on the carrier deck, a Quinjet slowly descended.
Black Widow led Bruce Banner onto the deck.
Ever since his rampage as the Hulk in New York last year, followed by his subsequent escape, Dr. Banner had spent hundreds of days and nights on the run, constantly living in fear that his father-in-law, General Ross, would send men to hunt him down.
S.H.I.E.L.D. had long since tracked him, but they had refrained from interfering. Now, to retrieve the Tesseract, Fury had no choice but to activate this ticking time bomb.
Banner was well aware of his own danger, which was why he avoided crowded places, terrified that his other personality might suddenly emerge and harm others.
However, recently, he had become much calmer. He could control his anger to a certain extent, no longer turning green at the slightest provocation as he once did.
As he stepped onto the deck, a massive six-meter-tall mech immediately caught Banner’s eye. Its sheer size made it impossible to ignore.
"I've seen that machine. On TV. Are the Apostles here too?" Banner asked, pointing at the mech in surprise.
Black Widow pursed her lips and gave a cryptic smile. "You'll meet him in a moment."
Before she could finish, another Quinjet landed.
Phil Coulson and Captain America, Steve Rogers, stepped off the plane one after another. Coulson directed the agents to help unload supplies from the aircraft.
Steve saw Banner and immediately walked over to shake his hand. The two superheroes exchanged introductions.
In the hallway, Luke, who happened to be passing by, caught a glimpse of the agents moving supplies into the storage room. Among them, a certain shield firmly captured his attention.
Captain America's shield!
He stared intently as it was carried in, drooling. "The Captain’s true self!"
He wondered what would happen if he secretly took that shield to build a mech; would the Captain come after him to fight for his life?
Just then, he felt a slight tremor beneath his feet.
Immediately, Luke heard the ship's intercom announce: "All personnel, clear the deck."
His heart stirred; he knew the Helicarrier on the sea was about to take off.
Arriving at the bridge, he saw Fury presiding over the departure. Shortly after he sat down, Steve, Black Widow, and Banner entered together.
Steve paused when he saw Luke, but then walked past him without much thought. He was busy observing the carrier, which looked similar to what he remembered from World War II. Of course, he recalled that aircraft carriers didn't fly.
Black Widow, upon seeing Luke, gave him a friendly nod and a smile.
When Banner walked in, he also noticed Luke at a glance.
He looked down, stunned, as Luke walked toward him, the small figure standing right before him.
Luke looked up and said to Banner, "Those soldiers are being way too much. Dr. Banner, I'm on your side!"
"Th-thank you..." Banner was utterly confused.
He wondered why there were so many children here; he had seen several in the hallway on his way in.
A prompt appeared in Luke's mind: *Bruce Banner Favorability +1.*
"The Hulk's rage... the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes, with no upper limit..." Luke thought with a grin. "It seems building up this favorability is a bit difficult. Wait..."
He suddenly realized a problem.
The system prompt indicated that Banner's favorability had increased, not the Hulk's. He remembered that Banner and the Hulk were two separate personalities.
"Well, that was like flirting with a blind man; a total waste of effort."
Thinking this, Luke grumbled, turned, and sat back down, ignoring Banner completely.
The sudden shift in attitude left Banner even more bewildered.
"Power levels at full, all engines operating normally. S.H.I.E.L.D. Emergency Protocol 193.6 initiated! Reaching target altitude, sir!" Hill reported sternly.
Under the incredulous gazes of Steve and Banner, the massive Helicarrier beneath their feet slowly lifted off the sea, truly ascending into the air, driven by four gigantic turbines.
"Excellent. Let's vanish from the world." Standing in the center of the bridge's command platform, Fury radiated authority as he issued his orders.
"Activate the background reflection panels," Hill commanded.
And so, the Helicarrier gradually entered a state of optical camouflage, eventually disappearing from the sky above the sea.
"Huh? We already have optical camouflage technology here? I thought it didn't appear until the Spider-Man movies. Looks like I remembered wrong again," Luke muttered to himself.
"Muttering what? What do you think?" Fury walked over and asked.
"It's alright, I guess. My technology is more mature," Luke boasted, not shy about praising his own work.
"Are you selling?" Fury asked.
Luke thought for a moment and said, "Make me an offer?"
"100 million dollars."
"Goodbye."
Luke turned and walked away without a second word.
"One billion dollars," Fury added from behind him.
Luke paused. He reached into his pocket, pulled out a USB drive, and handed it to Fury quite casually. He whispered, "For what's inside this, I want three billion dollars. You figure it out."
The drive contained all the information Christina had gathered on the Hydra moles within S.H.I.E.L.D.
"What is it? It's worth three billion?" Fury couldn't help but be moved.
"Take it back and look at it alone," Luke whispered again, then returned to his normal tone: "You’re only offering one billion for full-scale stealth technology? Do you think it’s cheap cabbage? Don't even dream of it for anything less than five billion!"
