Chapter Twenty-Two: When They Met
Cheng Yunting couldn’t help but recall the moment when the two of them first met.
“Hello, I’m Cheng Yunting. My mother, Shao Suya, asked me to look after you,” Cheng Yunting stepped forward, taking the initiative to introduce himself and offer his assistance.
Leng Zheng was taken aback for a moment, then nodded, “Hello, I’m Leng Zheng.”
“If you need anything, or if you run into any problems, just come to me. Or, if you prefer, you can move into my villa,” Cheng Yunting said, studying Leng Zheng with some curiosity. What kind of person could have prompted his mother to ask him for such a favor?
Shen Dongling glanced at Cheng Yunting, then at Leng Zheng, his suspicion growing: Was Cheng Yunting smitten with this young lady? There was something unusual in the way he looked at her.
“Alright,” Leng Zheng replied simply, thinking this was probably just a brotherly gesture. She didn’t mind, and anyway, she had no intention of staying here.
“Alright, we’ll be going then,” Cheng Yunting nodded before getting into the car.
Only then did Shen Dongling speak up, “Hello, Xiao Zheng! I’m Shen Dongling, a friend of Cheng Yunting. If you ever need anything, you can come to us.”
“Okay, I understand,” Leng Zheng replied coolly, nodding in acknowledgment.
“Alright, we’re off. Goodbye,” Cheng Yunting said as he ushered Shen Dongling into the car.
“Goodbye.”

“Hey, Yunting, don’t tell me you’ve taken a fancy to her? You were awfully enthusiastic with that girl just now,” Shen Dongling teased, eyeing the usually reserved Cheng Yunting.
“Shut up,” Cheng Yunting shot him a glance, his tone impatient.
