Chapter 28: I Will Send You to Hell
I stood there, suddenly feeling unbearably cold, the chill seeping into my very bones.
Xia Qi called, her voice trembling as she told me that Rong Luozheng, Yi Huayang, and the café owner had just been taken away by the police.
I asked her, “Xia Qi, was I wrong? If I had stopped this from the very beginning, Mu Ying wouldn’t have been hurt. Luo An’ge said that whatever Mu Ying loses, she will take from me.”
At this, Xia Qi broke down in tears. “Lanshan, it’s all my fault, all my fault. I was the one who told Mu Ying. I just wanted to help you vent your anger. I’m sorry, I didn’t know it would turn out this way…”
Although I had already guessed as much, I couldn’t bring myself to blame her. She was kind-hearted, incapable of malice—she simply wanted to help me.
“Xia Qi, remember this: if Luo An’ge investigates, put all the blame on me. Say it was me who brought you to the café. You knew nothing.”
She was aghast. “Yi Lanshan, are you out of your mind? Do you have a death wish?”
I hung up and turned off my phone, taking a deep breath before heading toward the lobby.
As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw Luo An’ge sitting on a chair with his head bowed, elbows on his knees, blood dripping steadily from his fingertips.
His clothes and trousers were soaked in blood, and people bustled through the corridor, all giving him a wide berth, avoiding him in silence.
I walked over and sat beside him, reaching out to take his hand. Before I could touch him, he suddenly flung my hand away so hard that it slammed into the wall.
It hurt, but I didn’t care. I handed him a wet tissue. “I…I just wanted to help you clean up.”
His eyes were bloodshot, wild and vicious, like a master gone mad from a failed martial arts technique. He glared at me, voice full of menace. “Yi Lanshan, you’d better start praying that Mu Ying is alright. Otherwise, I’ll drag you to hell myself.”
I gave a desolate smile. “It doesn’t matter. I’m already there.”
Suddenly, he lunged at me, his hands tightening around my neck. “Yi Lanshan, you’re a devil. You’re a devil!”
Tears fell from my eyes. “Luo An’ge, if I could, I’d rather be the one hurt. What good does it do to threaten me now? Once Mu Ying recovers, do whatever you want with me.”
At that moment, the doors of the operating room burst open and a nurse shouted, “The patient is losing too much blood and needs an urgent transfusion. Who here has AB blood type?”
Luo An’ge shoved me aside violently and sprang up, rolling up his sleeve. “I do, I do! Take as much as you need.”
The nurse hurried him to another room. I bent over, squatting on the floor, coughing violently. Passersby pointed at me, whispering that I was a murderer.
I didn’t know how long I stayed there before another nurse rushed out, calling for more blood. “It’s not enough. Call the other hospitals—have them send AB blood type here immediately!”
Dazed, I stood up and grabbed a nurse. “I’m AB blood type—take mine. I’m a relative of the patient.”
She glanced at me and, pressed for time, led me off for testing.
Soon, I was lying in the transfusion room. Luo An’ge lay on the bed beside me with his eyes closed. I extended my right arm and whispered, “Go ahead.”
After a while, the nurse reminded me, “According to your stats, we can only draw 400cc. Any more will be dangerous for your health.”
I shook my head. “It’s fine. I’m strong. Draw more if you need.”
The nurse frowned, glancing at Luo An’ge. “This gentleman already gave 800cc. He can’t give any more, either.”
Once she finished and left, I turned my head toward Luo An’ge and said quietly, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know things would turn out like this.”
He said nothing, unmoving, as if asleep. I stared at the ceiling, replaying the day’s events in my mind.
I trusted that Xia Qi wouldn’t lie to me. She’d found out about Rong Luozheng and Yi Huayang’s secret meeting, and brought me there, hoping to help me vent my anger. She also contacted Mu Ying, who showed up with her people, ultimately leading to a disaster that could no longer be undone.
But why did Mu Ying trust Xia Qi? Did they know each other?
And what exactly was written on those papers Rong Luozheng had shown Yi Huayang? Did she love Du Fanchuan, or was it really Rong Luozheng?
Moreover, what was the relationship between Luo An’ge and Mu Ying? Why was he so anxious about her?
