I was caught between a rock and a hard place, looking at Shu Congxuan. He smiled at me, saying, “Don’t scare the young lady. Let’s go eat first.”

But Luo Anxin wouldn’t let us off so easily. He grabbed us, one in each hand. “Uncle, big sister, you should get married!”

Shu Congxuan picked him up indulgently, pinching his nose. “No more mischief.”

Luo Anxin pouted and pressed further, “I don’t care, I don’t care, I want you two to get married.”

Shu Congxuan glanced at me. “Fine, then I’ll exchange phone numbers with this young lady. That should be enough, right?”

He reached out to me. I froze, unsure of his intention, until he hinted for my number. I handed him my phone; he tapped a few times and returned it to me. I checked—his number had already been saved, under his name.

Luo Anxin clapped his hands in satisfaction. “Let’s go, let’s go downstairs for dinner!”

Holding both our hands, he led us past Luo Ange. I instinctively looked at him and found him staring back at me. My heart sank, but before I could think, Luo Anxin dragged me away.

Once seated, Luo Ange came downstairs with Lei Zhiyi, taking the seat opposite us.

At first, everything seemed ordinary. Everyone ate naturally and comfortably; since Lei Zhiyi was pretending not to know me, I happily reciprocated.

But when Shu Congxuan placed some food on my plate, it stirred up waves.

Luo Anxin clapped and cried out, “Uncle, why do you only serve Aunt? I want some too!”

Shu Congxuan, helpless, served him as well, then patted his head and smiled at me.

Mo Yinghuai watched and laughed. “Xin’er has always clung to his uncle, there’s nothing to be done about it.”

Luo Anxin grinned at me. “From now on, I’ll cling to Aunt.”

Just then, someone kicked me under the table. I looked up—Luo Ange was staring at me, seemingly displeased. Without thinking, I kicked back, but my foot was trapped by his.

The worst part was, he slid his foot up along my calf, pulling up my pant leg, with every intention of going even higher.

My face flushed, my breath grew uneven, and I gripped my chopsticks tightly.

Shu Congxuan, noticing my reaction, put down his chopsticks and asked, “What’s wrong?”

I trembled, shook my head, my voice strained. “Nothing, I just remembered a dog, and it made me laugh.”

He smiled softly. “Are you afraid of dogs?”

I looked at Luo Ange. “No, I quite like dogs, but there’s one that’s especially annoying.”

Shu Congxuan had no idea what I meant. He gave me more food, saying gently, “If you encounter it again, just call me.”

Luo Anxin chimed in, adding fuel to the fire. “Me too! I’ll beat it up.”

I stifled a laugh and nodded, but Luo Ange didn’t stop. One hand held his wine glass, the other reached under the table to grip my calf.

When his fingers traced the sole of my foot, and I realized he was writing “I want you” with his fingertips, I couldn’t help but let out a soft cry. My back pressed involuntarily against the chair, unable to escape.

Luo Anxin watched me. “Aunt, what’s wrong?”

My face burned, noticing everyone had paused and was looking at me. I forced a smile. “Sorry, my throat’s a bit uncomfortable.”

Mo Yinghuai cheerfully urged everyone to continue eating, but Luo Ange’s movements persisted. Anger boiled up in me; I summoned all my strength and kicked hard.

I thought he would finally release me, but suddenly Lei Zhiyi, sitting beside him, covered her mouth and cried out.

Luo Ange looked at her. “What’s wrong?”

She shook her head, tears glistening in her eyes.

He gently pulled away her hand and examined her, full of concern. “How careless—you bit your tongue during dinner. Does it hurt? I’ll call a doctor for you.”

With his comfort, Lei Zhiyi began to weep. “It hurts so much…”

“Alright, let me see. I’ll blow on it, and it won’t hurt anymore. Be good, alright?”
