Chapter 126: Do You Have Many Questions?
“I heard you wanted to bribe me? Well then, shall we talk?” Qin Tian lowered his voice.
The homeowner pulled Qin Tian aside and said, “Once it’s done, I’ll give you half. Don’t ruin my plan!”
“Half? That’s too little. I want ninety percent!” Qin Tian replied.
“Ninety percent?” The homeowner exclaimed in surprise, then quickly covered his mouth. Lowering his voice, he added, “At most, I can give you sixty percent.”
“Eighty-five percent,” Qin Tian countered.
“Sixty percent, no more!” The homeowner shook his head repeatedly.
“Forget it then.” Qin Tian turned to leave.
The homeowner hurriedly grabbed Qin Tian and, gritting his teeth, said, “Seventy percent, seventy at most! That’s the limit!”
“Alright! It’s a deal!” Qin Tian smiled and nodded.
“But judging by their looks, they probably don’t have eight million. Isn’t that too much?” Qin Tian asked further.
“Eight million was just to scare them. Getting one or two million would be good enough. Even two hundred thousand would satisfy me,” the homeowner sighed.
Qin Tian was speechless. It seemed this guy had done a lot of extortion scams! He certainly had plenty of experience!
“Then let’s go with two hundred thousand. Give me one hundred forty thousand upfront,” Qin Tian said.
“Pay you first?” The homeowner frowned slightly.
“What? You don’t want to? What if you back out after it’s done? Of course, I have to receive my share first!” Qin Tian said confidently.
The homeowner thought it over and realized Qin Tian had a point. Gritting his teeth, he asked for Qin Tian’s bank card number and immediately transferred one hundred forty thousand.
“Delete the records to avoid getting caught,” Qin Tian instructed.
“Yeah, you’re cautious, brother,” the homeowner nodded and deleted the transfer records.
Qin Tian smirked, slipped his hand into his pocket, and blindly sent a text to Nangong Xiao’e.
Nangong Xiao’e smiled as she read the message. Her brother Qin Lei was playing tricks on the scoundrels again!
“Wan’er, handle the transfer records for these two cards,” Nangong Xiao’e said to Song Wan, who was in a wheelchair.
“Okay!” Song Wan nodded, opened the software, and quickly took care of it.
Ding!
Qin Tian’s phone vibrated in his pocket. He curled his lips, knowing Nangong Xiao’e had already finished the task efficiently.
---
“Impossible! You actually wanted to bribe me? To help you scam people together!” Qin Tian pushed the homeowner away.
“You…” The homeowner’s eyes widened in disbelief. What was going on?
“What ‘you’! I’m telling you, trying to bribe me to do bad things? No way! I’m a model citizen!” Qin Tian said righteously.
“You’re messing with me?” The homeowner cursed angrily.
“Messing with you? What are you talking about? I’ll never be bribed by you!” Qin Tian said sternly.
Many bystanders grew angry and joined Qin Tian in condemning the homeowner. They never expected the homeowner to try bribing Qin Tian to continue his extortion scheme!
This was despicable!
Such a villain deserved to go to hell!
“Scoundrel! I already transferred you one hundred forty thousand! How dare you mess with me!” The homeowner roared, effectively admitting to the scam.
The crowd erupted in uproar, pointing fingers at the homeowner. The fake moving company staff glanced around, looking for a chance to escape.
The situation was dire for them. If they didn’t leave soon, they might get arrested and face legal consequences!
“How can you slander me? Even if I refused your bribe, you can’t accuse me like that!” Qin Tian shrugged helplessly.
“Slander you?” The homeowner laughed bitterly, probably out of anger.
“Hmph! Don’t think deleting the transfer record means the money is gone! The bank keeps backups. Both your receiving card and my transfer card will show that money!” The homeowner sneered.
“Oh? Suit yourself. Since you’re so serious about slandering me, I’ll cooperate fully. Let me call and check for you,” Qin Tian said with a faint smile.
The homeowner frowned, sensing something was wrong, but didn’t know what.
“I’ll do it myself!” The homeowner snorted coldly and dialed the bank’s number, switching to speaker mode.
He had made up his mind. Even if things turned sour for him, he wouldn’t let Qin Tian off easily.
That little bastard had ruined his plan and even tried to scam him out of money!
“Hello, this is XX Bank customer service. How may I assist you?” a voice came from the other end.
“Help me check where my one hundred forty thousand transfer went. Did it go to an MM Bank card? Is the cardholder’s surname Qin?” the homeowner asked.
“Okay, sir, may I have your full name, please?” the customer service representative asked.
“My surname is Zhen,” the homeowner replied.
“And your full name?” the representative continued.
“Zhen Pianzi,” said the homeowner.
“Sir, I didn’t catch that. Are you sure that’s your real name?” the representative was taken aback.
“Yes! I am Zhen Pianzi!” the homeowner nodded.
Silence fell on the other end.
The bystanders looked on in astonishment. Was this guy really named “True Liar”?
Qin Tian twitched at the corner of his mouth. That name suited him perfectly!
“Sir, your full name is really ‘True Liar’?” the representative asked, still trying to process the situation.
“Yes! I am Zhen Pianzi! Why so many questions? Just check the records!” the homeowner snapped.
“Sir, could you please spell it out?” the representative sighed deeply.
“Zhen like the one in ‘The Legend of Zhen Huan’, Pian as in ‘one slice’, Zi as in ‘wood’ and ‘xin’,” the homeowner said impatiently.
“Alright, sir, I’ll check now,” the representative replied.
After a moment, the representative’s voice came again.
“Sorry, sir. There was no transfer of one hundred forty thousand from your bank card just now. In fact, there have been no transfers of that amount in the past month,” the representative said apologetically.
“That’s impossible! I just transferred one hundred forty thousand! It can’t be!” Zhen Pianzi exclaimed in disbelief.
“Let me check again! You must have missed it!” he insisted.
“Alright, sir, please hold on,” the representative responded.
Shortly after, the voice came back.
“Sorry, sir, there really is no record of a one hundred forty thousand transfer,” the representative said.
“Impossible! How can there be no record?” Zhen Pianzi hung up and stared at Qin Tian.
Qin Tian smiled slyly. Little brother, I guess you have a lot of questions right now, don’t you?
