Chapter 152: I Suspect This Is a Horror Story
Watching Shen Xiaoqing being scolded by Jiang Yingying, Qin Tian wore a helpless expression.
Just a moment ago, this girl caught sight of a barbecue stand nearby and immediately drifted over, leisurely stuffing her face in the shop for a good half-hour.
It wasn't until she was thoroughly full and satisfied that she realized she was lost...
She truly had nerves of steel!
Once boarded, Qin Tian dozed off in his seat.
Three hours later, the plane safely landed in Wu City, where they successfully picked up Jiang Qiaoyan before preparing for a direct flight to Bubble Island.
They bought first-class tickets for the flight to Bubble Island.
It wasn't that they wanted to live in the lap of luxury, but every seat bound for Bubble Island below first-class was completely booked!
Though economy still had a scattering of empty seats, they weren't seated together. Figuring it wouldn't cost that much more, they hardened their hearts and indulged in a bit of extravagance.
Little Jiang Qiaoyan behaved remarkably well throughout the entire journey. Although her eyes were wide with curiosity as she sat in her seat, she did nothing to disturb the other passengers.
The flight duration was roughly four and a half hours—assuming everything ran on time, of course.
However, the route to Bubble Island was prone to heavy turbulence, often requiring detours, so flight delays were practically an everyday occurrence.
Sure enough, shortly after takeoff, the aircraft encountered severe turbulence. The captain apologized over the intercom, stating they needed to detour, which might result in a half-hour delay.
In response, some passengers looked puzzled, some showed concern, while others remained completely relaxed and indifferent.
"Sir, would you like something to drink?" a flight attendant asked as she walked over.
"No, thank you," Qin Tian shook his head.
"Judging by your hands, you must have done plenty of farm work when you were a kid," Qin Tian said with a smile to the flight attendant.
The flight attendant instinctively pulled her hands back, smiling as she replied, "Isn't that how kids raised in the countryside always look?"
Qin Tian dropped the subject and closed his eyes to rest.
"Yingying, what attractions should we hit up first when we arrive?" Shen Xiaoqing unlocked her phone and began browsing a popular review app to search for fun activities on Bubble Island.
"Once we get off the plane and check into the hotel, you probably won't want to leave your room," Jiang Yingying remarked.
She had traveled with Shen Xiaoqing several times before. This girl was always brimming with excitement on the way, but the moment they reached their destination, she turned into a puddle of goo, refusing to go here or there.
"Not this time! I've been wanting to visit Bubble Island forever!" Shen Xiaoqing insisted.
"Do you expect me to believe that?" Jiang Yingying rolled her eyes at her.
Puffing out her cheeks, Shen Xiaoqing turned her head away, burying herself in her phone and ignoring Jiang Yingying completely.
The content Shen Xiaoqing was browsing had been cached before boarding the flight, meaning she wasn't using the in-flight network and posed no threat to aircraft operations.
Besides, at an altitude of ten thousand meters, even if someone wanted to browse the internet, there was no cellular signal anyway!
When Qin Tian closed his eyes, he wasn't actually fast asleep, because ever since boarding the plane, an inexplicable sense of unease had been gnawing at him.
Whether human sixth sense actually existed had never been scientifically proven; rather, whenever people anticipated a potential event that subsequently came to pass, they attributed it to a sixth sense.
Over time, this sixth sense evolved into something perceived as "real."
Qin Tian opened his eyes and tapped Tang Bo on the shoulder, signaling him to stand up and let him out.
Leaving his seat, Qin Tian headed to the restroom.
Before stepping inside, he glanced toward the crew rest area and felt a sudden wave of puzzlement. Why was the crew so remarkably sparse? There was only a single flight attendant present.
He figured she must have been busy attending to passengers in another cabin.
Grabbing the handrail, Qin Tian unzipped his fly, and the urge to urinate reached its peak. Just as he was about to let loose, the plane was suddenly rocked by violent turbulence!
Outside, a warning chime began to sound continuously—they had hit severe turbulence!
Qin Tian felt a wave of frustration. Should he pee now or hold it? There was no way he could suck it back in!
Yet he worried that a sudden, violent jolt might cause him to spray urine everywhere inside the cubicle—or worse, all over himself.
Gritting his teeth, he figured holding it in was bad for his kidneys, so he let it flow.
The moment it came out, Qin Tian let out a long sigh of relief.
Fortunately, the plane behaved and didn't shake too violently.
As Qin Tian stepped out of the restroom, a flight attendant approached him, holding out a towel and whispering, "Sir, would you like to freshen up and wipe off?"
Qin Tian was deeply embarrassed. He coughed awkwardly and muttered, "Steady as a rock," before scurrying back to his seat in a hurry.
Watching Qin Tian flee in panic, the flight attendant let out a smile, though by the end of it, a chilling edge crept into the corner of her mouth.
Throughout the flight, the aircraft encountered five bouts of severe turbulence and was forced to alter its course twice, pushing their estimated arrival time to six o'clock in the evening—more than an hour later than scheduled.
Qin Tian stared listlessly at the in-flight magazine, occasionally glancing out the window.
"Huh?" Qin Tian suddenly caught sight of something flashing past the window.
Resting his left hand on the armrest, he leaned his head closer to the glass. In his haste, his left hand slipped and pressed straight onto something soft. Qin Tian even gave it a squeeze, noting that the texture felt quite nice.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Jiang Yingying glared at him with fury. Only then did Qin Tian realize his hand was planted squarely on Jiang Yingying's thigh, dangerously close to a very sensitive area.
Startled out of his wits, Qin Tian snatched his hand back. But the sudden retraction threw him off balance, and he lunged forward, crashing directly into Shen Xiaoqing's embrace.
"Big guy, are you taking advantage of me?" Shen Xiaoqing stared in astonishment at Qin Tian, who was now sprawled across her chest.
Panicking, Qin Tian grabbed onto the back of the seat in front of him and hoisted himself up.
"No, look, I saw a black dot flying past the window just now. I was just wondering if it might be some undiscovered rare beast or bird," Qin Tian stammered.
"At an altitude of ten thousand meters, there are no damn birds! I seriously can't believe you're this kind of person!" Jiang Yingying glared at him, convinced he was merely making up excuses for his groping.
"I..." Qin Tian was left speechless.
"Huh?" Right at that moment, Qin Tian saw another object flash past the window in a blur.
This time, he saw it clearly. That damn thing was a person!
What the hell? Someone was flying at an altitude of ten thousand meters?
Qin Tian immediately pressed his face against the window, ignoring the punches and kicks coming from Jiang Yingying and Shen Xiaoqing.
As he looked closer, that flying figure looked strangely familiar. Especially the clothing—it looked remarkably like some sort of uniform.
Recalling the scene before boarding, realization dawned on him. Wasn't that the captain's uniform? The captain had even walked around warmly greeting everyone before takeoff.
Wait, so the person flying outside was the captain?
"What the hell? The captain?!"
Qin Tian instantly realized something was terribly wrong, his jaw dropping in shock. Setting aside how the captain had ended up outside at ten thousand feet, the real question was: who was flying the plane?
A chilling shiver ran down Qin Tian's spine. What on earth was going on here?
