Qin Tian had already memorized the face of the stranger from earlier. When the time came, there would be no need for him to provide a sketch; as long as the hospital surveillance footage was reviewed, he could identify the man directly.

First, Qin Tian went to the restroom and washed the greasy residue off his hands before returning to Jiang Tianxiang’s hospital room.

“How did it go? Did you catch that sneaky man?” Shen Xiaoqing asked.

“No. That guy’s slippery as an eel.” Qin Tian spread his hands in resignation.

“An eel?” Shen Xiaoqing was momentarily puzzled. Only after Qin Tian explained did understanding dawn on her face.

“So he came prepared. Did he smear himself with lubricant?” Shen Xiaoqing exclaimed in surprise.

Jiang Yingying stood silently to the side. She now realized she had wrongly accused Qin Tian. There truly was a stranger targeting their Jiang family!

The thought of having unjustly blamed Qin Tian made Jiang Yingying’s cheeks flush with embarrassment. The feeling of having wronged a good person was far from pleasant.

“This person is probably connected to Uncle Jiang’s accident,” Qin Tian remarked.

“By the way, tell me specifically—how exactly did Uncle Jiang get into the accident? You mentioned on the phone that he was set up?” Qin Tian asked.

“Yingying knows more details than I do. Ask her,” Shen Xiaoqing said, gesturing at Jiang Yingying.

Qin Tian turned to Jiang Yingying and noticed she was daydreaming, her cheeks tinged with red. Was she having some romantic fantasy?

“Hey!” Shen Xiaoqing nudged Jiang Yingying with her shoulder.

“Huh? What is it?” Jiang Yingying snapped back to attention.

“Tell our medical genius here how Uncle Jiang got hurt,” Shen Xiaoqing prompted.

“Oh, right.” Jiang Yingying nodded.

That morning, Jiang Yingying had accompanied Jiang Tianxiang to the company. The trip had been uneventful until they reached the company gates. As they were getting out of the car, a large truck suddenly barreled toward them from one side!

The truck seemed to have a mind of its own, heading straight for both Jiang Yingying and Jiang Tianxiang.

Jiang Tianxiang shoved Jiang Yingying out of the way, but he couldn’t dodge in time and was slammed against a car behind him.

The impact was so tremendous that both of Jiang Tianxiang’s legs were reduced to a bloody pulp. Though they weren’t completely severed, the result was even more horrifying!

“Was it that the truck went out of control?” Qin Tian asked.

“I don’t know. The police are still investigating. The driver is in custody,” Jiang Yingying replied.

“Looks like I’ll have to go to the station. I wonder if Captain Lin has dealt with that giant wolf yet.”

As he spoke, Qin Tian took out his phone and called Lin Jian.

“Hello, Captain Lin? Where are you now? Any progress?” Qin Tian asked.

“Not yet. There’s been a development—we’re still chasing the giant wolf,” came Lin Jian’s voice over the line, accompanied by the sound of rushing wind.

The wolf had escaped? Qin Tian was a bit taken aback. Lin Jian had been so confident about catching it. But for now, this was no longer his concern.

After all, it had been proven that the wolf wasn’t responsible for the injuries. There was no need for him to worry about it anymore. Let the professionals handle matters of public safety. Of course, if he was ever needed, he would not hesitate to help.

“I’ve got a situation here—Jiang Tianxiang was hit by a vehicle. The perpetrator is at the police station. I’d like to see the suspect if possible,” Qin Tian said.

“What? President Jiang was hit? All right, go to the station—I’ll make arrangements,” Lin Jian agreed.

Were it anyone else, Lin Jian would never allow them to meddle in such affairs, but Qin Tian’s case was special.

Not only was Qin Tian a brilliant doctor, recognized by the eminent Sun Simin, but he had also received an invitation from Guo Chao, with prospects of joining the White Tiger Squad in the future.

Someone with such potential was destined for greatness. Sometimes, the police needed capable people to assist with cases, and Qin Tian was exactly the kind of person they needed.

“Thank you, Captain Lin,” Qin Tian said, ending the call.

“I’m heading to the police station now. You two stay here and don’t leave the room,” he instructed.

“There’s something strange about this whole affair. It’s clearly a conspiracy against the Jiang family. Maybe those people couldn’t wait until the day of the horse race and decided to strike early,” Qin Tian speculated.

“Be careful,” Shen Xiaoqing reminded him.

“Don’t worry. Just keep yourselves safe. If there’s trouble, shout for help,” Qin Tian said with a smile.

Qin Tian left the hospital and caught a cab straight to the police station. Upon arrival, he explained his purpose and was promptly led into a small room—Lin Jian had clearly notified them in advance.

“Mr. Qin, you’re here to learn about the case?” Soon, an officer carrying a stack of files entered.

“Yes. Have you questioned him?” Qin Tian asked.

“All the records are here. Please take a look,” the officer replied, placing the documents before him.

Qin Tian thanked him and began reading through the lengthy interrogation transcripts.

He read carefully, frowning slightly. The driver had been drunk at the time. More baffling, the man claimed that the brakes failed and the steering suddenly went out of control, causing him to crash through the flowerbeds and hit Jiang Tianxiang.

The vehicle inspection report hadn’t come out yet, so it was still unclear whether it truly was brake failure or steering malfunction.

There was nothing particularly useful in the records.

“Can I see the driver?” Qin Tian asked.

“Yes, of course,” the officer nodded. Lin Jian had already authorized it.

Qin Tian was taken to where the driver was being held, and the officer left them alone.

There were cameras in the room, so there was no need to worry about anything unexpected.

When Qin Tian entered, the driver was sitting with his head bowed, seemingly remorseful.

Qin Tian didn’t speak or question him, but simply observed the man in silence.

The silent contest had begun. The driver knew why he was here—whoever spoke first would lose.

Suddenly, Qin Tian narrowed his eyes, bent down, and peered at the driver’s chest.

“You work for Tiantang Corporation?” Qin Tian asked.

The driver’s head jerked up in shock, his eyes betraying his surprise.

Qin Tian couldn’t help but be speechless—was it really this easy to scare out the truth?

So the mastermind was Tiantang Corporation!

President Tang Yiliu of Tiantang must have been holding a grudge after his previous schemes backfired, so he concocted this revenge.

“How did you know?” the driver stammered in disbelief.

“Your chest,” Qin Tian replied, pointing at the driver’s shirt.

There was a “Tiantang Logistics” logo on it—anyone with eyes could see!

And which Tiantang Logistics could this be, if not the one under Tang Yiliu’s conglomerate?
