Tang Yiliu truly hadn’t expected that Qin Tian would dare speak to the heir of the Griffin family in such a manner. Wasn’t he just courting death?

Yet what surprised him even more was that Wade Griffin simply scratched his head sheepishly, looking rather embarrassed.

What in the world? What was going on here?

“Xiaotian, I never thought I’d run into you here. Back then, you must have been only about this tall.” Wade Griffin gestured to his waist to show the height.

“Hey! Good thing you recognized me, Brother Griffin. I honestly didn’t recognize you at all. I’m really embarrassed,” Qin Tian replied, looking apologetic.

Brother? My god, Wade Griffin is actually this kid’s big brother?

Tang Yiliu’s eyes almost popped out of his head. Things were suddenly getting complicated!

“How is Old Master Kong?” Wade Griffin asked.

“That old man? Who knows where he’s disappeared to. I haven’t heard from him in over half a month,” Qin Tian sighed.

“Old Master Kong is missing?” Wade Griffin was a bit surprised.

“Let’s not talk about that. Brother Griffin, what brings you to China?” Qin Tian asked.

“I’m here to watch the horse races,” Wade Griffin replied.

Qin Tian glanced at Tang Yiliu, who, because of Wade Griffin’s presence, instinctively shrank his neck and didn’t dare meet Qin Tian’s gaze.

No matter how powerful Tang Yiliu’s Tiantang Group was, in front of the Griffin family, he was nothing more than a shrimp!

So even though Tang Yiliu was a local bigwig, he didn’t dare to act tough in front of Wade Griffin.

“It’s been a long time—shall we have a meal together?” Qin Tian suggested.

“Sure! Let’s go!” Wade Griffin nodded with a smile.

“Mr. Griffin…” Tang Yiliu hurried forward.

Tonight, they had specifically arranged a banquet for Wade Griffin. If he just left like this, their plans would be ruined!

“What is it?” Wade Griffin asked, expressionless.

If not for the generous gifts Tang Yiliu had sent to the Griffin family, given how he’d treated Qin Tian earlier, Wade Griffin would have already turned his back on him.

“We’ve prepared a lavish welcome banquet for you, Mr. Griffin. Would you…” Tang Yiliu forced himself to say.

Wade Griffin was about to refuse, but Qin Tian interjected.

“Brother Griffin, why don’t we attend President Tang’s banquet? We can’t let his kind intentions go to waste, can we?” Qin Tian said.

Qin Tian was certain that Tang Yiliu and his people were wary of Wade Griffin, so he relaxed, figuring he might as well enjoy a free meal.

“Alright, I’ll go with Xiaotian. Oh, and these two ladies as well, if that’s alright?” Wade Griffin, ever shrewd—how else would he have become his family’s heir—pointed to Jiang Yingying and Shen Xiaoqing.

“Of course, of course.” Tang Yiliu nodded repeatedly. Even if Qin Tian and his companions were coming along, as long as Wade Griffin attended, that was all that mattered.

So the group drove to the Imperial Hotel, a flagship property of the Imperial Group, and one of the top five-star hotels in the city—indeed, in the entire province.

They were ushered into the most luxurious private room, where the pillars were carved with dragons and phoenixes and the walls displayed works by renowned artists. Though not worth astronomical sums, each piece was worth at least several hundred thousand, showing the high standards of the place.

“President Tang, do your previous words still stand?” Qin Tian asked after they were seated.

“What words?” Tang Yiliu was momentarily confused.

“Let me remind you—Jiang Group,” Qin Tian prompted, frowning.

Realization dawned on Tang Yiliu. He really hadn’t thought of it on the spot, as it was a matter between them and the Jiang Group. If Jiang Yingying had asked, he’d have remembered immediately.

“Rest assured, we’ll keep our word. We won’t move against the Jiang Group again,” Tang Yiliu replied.

“Good. Now what about the matter of Jiang Tianxiang’s broken leg?” Qin Tian pressed on.

Tonight wasn’t just about getting a free meal; he also wanted to settle the matter of Jiang Tianxiang’s injury!

Not only Jiang Yingying and Shen Xiaoqing, but even Jiang Zhengye, Huang Qinhu, and Deng Jiachen all turned their eyes on Tang Yiliu.

They, too, had only learned of Tang Yiliu’s move against Jiang Tianxiang after the fact.

“This…” Tang Yiliu gritted his teeth, unsure how to respond.

Now that Wade Griffin was standing behind Qin Tian, things had become a real mess. He had no idea how to handle it.

“I’ll pay compensation—two hundred million. Is that enough?” Tang Yiliu said through clenched teeth.

“Alright, then I’ll offer you four hundred million. But not only do I want your two legs, I’ll take your two arms as well. How about that?” Qin Tian shot back.

“You—!” Tang Yiliu was about to erupt in anger, but seeing Wade Griffin looking at him, he immediately wilted.

“Then what do you want?” Tang Yiliu did his best to keep his tone calm.

“Yingying?” Qin Tian looked to Jiang Yingying, wanting to know how she wished to handle it.

“You decide,” Jiang Yingying replied. She really didn’t know what kind of compensation to ask for, especially since Jiang Tianxiang had already fully recovered thanks to Qin Tian’s treatment.

Though Jiang Yingying harbored endless hatred for Tang Yiliu, she couldn’t think of any truly vicious move.

“Alright,” Qin Tian nodded.

“Forty-nine percent of Tiantang Company’s shares, plus two billion in cash!” Qin Tian demanded.

“Are you robbing me?!” Tang Yiliu slammed the table in agitation, standing up to glare at Qin Tian.

“Hmm?” Wade Griffin glanced at Tang Yiliu.

“Mr. Griffin, that demand is simply outrageous…” Tang Yiliu retorted, gritting his teeth.

“Then let’s do as Qin Tian said—he’ll give you four hundred million, break your legs and both arms. I’ll cover the four hundred million!” Wade Griffin declared domineeringly.

“This… this…” Tang Yiliu felt utterly stifled. Since when had Qin Tian latched onto Wade Griffin’s coattails?

If he’d known about their relationship, he would never have gotten involved! He would’ve even backed out of the bet with the Jiang Group!

“Fine. But I can’t give that much. The most I can do is twenty percent of the shares and five hundred million in cash!” Tang Yiliu bargained.

“Thirty percent of the shares and two billion in cash,” Qin Tian pressed relentlessly.

“Twenty-five percent and one billion in cash!” Tang Yiliu continued to haggle.

“Thirty percent and one billion,” Qin Tian said coolly.

Shares were not to be conceded lightly—they were far more valuable than cash! Given Tiantang Company’s prospects, bankruptcy was nearly impossible; thirty percent of the shares would be worth a fortune!

“Twenty-five percent and five hundred million in cash! That’s final. Otherwise, we’ll go down together!” Tang Yiliu said, eyes blazing.

“Deal!” Qin Tian nodded. That was enough—too much would be counterproductive. Twenty-five percent it would be.
