Chapter 83: Frightened Once Again
Jiang Zhengye burst out of the room, not even bothering to call the driver, and completely forgetting that he had been drinking. He jumped straight into the driver’s seat and sped toward the Imperial Grand Hotel. Along the way, Jiang Zhengye paid no heed to traffic lights, running red after red, even driving against traffic for a stretch. Speeding, straddling lanes—these were happening constantly. Right now, Qiu Yindang was his lucky charm for further promotion—nothing could be allowed to happen to him! A few traffic violations and points off his license were the least of his worries; even if his license was revoked, he’d find a way to get it back later!
Just then, a car from the Integrated Administration Bureau appeared behind him, sirens wailing, signaling Jiang Zhengye to pull over. Jiang Zhengye wanted to ignore them—he’d already thrown caution to the wind—but the other car overtook him and forced him to stop.
“Get out of the car! Racing around in the middle of the night—think you’re cool?” The window on Jiang Zhengye’s side was pounded repeatedly, accompanied by the shouts of an officer from the bureau. Jiang Zhengye’s face darkened as he rolled down the window, but when he saw who was standing outside, he froze. The man outside was equally surprised to see Jiang Zhengye. It was clear that the two knew each other.
Meanwhile, in a certain room at the Imperial Grand Hotel.
“Are you tired?” Qin Tian and Nangong Xiaoe had been waiting here for nearly an hour, yet their target still hadn’t returned. Had they really just dumped the woman from the suitcase in the room and left her? Or was something planned for tomorrow?
“I’m an assassin! At my peak, I once stayed hyper-focused for seven days and nights without sleeping a single second!” Nangong Xiaoe lifted her delicate nose with pride.
“Assassin training must have been tough, right?” Qin Tian asked earnestly, thinking of how Nangong Xiaoe, a young girl, must have endured a brutal regimen.
“It was all right. You get used to it after a while,” Nangong Xiaoe replied after a brief pause.
“In fact, my adoptive parents treated me very well, truly. They always told me girls should learn to protect themselves. It was my own decision to train,” she said, taking a deep breath. But in her heart, there was a secret—a secret she couldn’t yet reveal. It was this secret that compelled her to grow stronger.
“Don’t work too hard. Girls should be pretty, go shopping, eat delicious food every day. Look at Yingying and Xiaoqing—they live like that, don’t they?” Qin Tian had barely finished speaking before he realized his mistake. He glanced at Nangong Xiaoe and saw her expression had changed, just as he feared.
“I don’t like that woman.” She was, of course, referring to Jiang Yingying. Qin Tian could only give a bitter smile.
Just then, footsteps sounded outside. Qin Tian and Nangong Xiaoe exchanged a glance and nodded at each other. Moments later, the door next door opened and closed, and a burst of static crackled in their earpieces, followed by a man’s voice.
“Baby, are you hiding in the suitcase? I’ve missed you so much!” Qin Tian’s face froze. That voice was unmistakably Qiu Yindang, the man he’d dealt with not long ago. This guy was a lecher—sooner or later, he’d die at the hands of a woman. It seemed Qiu Yindang had found some innocent girl to toy with; it wasn’t a human trafficking case as Qin Tian had suspected, but a case of sexual assault.
Clearly, the lesson they’d given Qiu Yindang a few hours earlier hadn’t been enough. Nangong Xiaoe recognized Qiu Yindang’s voice as well and gave Qin Tian a questioning look. “Should we stop him?”
“Wait a bit longer. He seems to be heading to the shower,” Qin Tian sneered. It looked like Qiu Yindang needed a much harsher lesson—otherwise, he’d never learn, and who knew how many more innocent girls would suffer because of him.
“Baby, I’m out of the shower! Sorry to keep you waiting!” Qiu Yindang’s sleazy voice oozed through the earpiece.
“Bet you’re suffocating after being in that suitcase, huh? Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of you!” Qiu Yindang laughed obscenely.
Nangong Xiaoe felt sick to her stomach, itching to rush in and tear the bastard limb from limb.
“Should we go in?” she asked, worried that waiting any longer might be too late.
“Just a little longer.” Qin Tian closed his eyes, listening intently to the sounds from the adjacent room. In his mind, he could almost see Qiu Yindang’s every move.
At that moment, Mi Xue had already woken up. Her hands and feet were bound, and her mouth was gagged. Staring at Qiu Yindang in his thin bathrobe, her eyes were wide with terror. Only moments ago, she’d been at a banquet, when she suddenly fainted. When she awoke, she found herself here. The instant she saw Qiu Yindang, she understood—it was all his doing.
Mi Xue had always been well aware of Qiu Yindang’s depraved intentions. In her eyes, he was just a toad—rich, dressed up, trying to play the prince. But at his core, he was still just a toad.
Suddenly, Mi Xue remembered: at the banquet, a strange man had touched her wine glass. Thinking back, it was surely him who had drugged her.
“Getting anxious, baby?” Qiu Yindang rubbed his hands together, licking his lips as he lifted Mi Xue out of the suitcase and tossed her onto the bed. No matter how hard Mi Xue struggled, it was useless. Watching her land on the soft mattress, bouncing slightly, her hair in disarray and her body curled up in a seductive pose, Qiu Yindang’s eyebrows twitched uncontrollably, and he swallowed hard. She was a true temptress.
“Hey!” Qiu Yindang looked down, eyes wide. To his shock, something that had long refused to cooperate was finally showing a hint of life.
“Damn! My manhood’s back!” he exclaimed in delight, looking at Mi Xue with even greater greed.
“Mi Xue! Here I come!” he said, about to pounce.
“Mm! Mm! Mm!” Mi Xue shook her head desperately, rolling off the bed and landing in the corner.
“Why fight it? I’m not so bad,” Qiu Yindang sighed, moving over to yank the gag from her mouth.
“You bastard! Let me go! You’ll go to jail for this!” Mi Xue shouted.
“Jail? Hmph! I’d like to see who dares arrest me!”
“Tonight, I’m going to devour you—down to the bone!” With that, Qiu Yindang threw himself at her.
Tears of humiliation streamed from Mi Xue’s eyes, falling to the floor.
Bang!
Just then, the door was kicked open from the outside, making Qiu Yindang jump and shudder with fear. Before he could react, someone seized his shoulder, and suddenly he was airborne.
With a heavy thud, Qiu Yindang crashed to the floor. He rolled over, looking at his now limp nether regions, his face even more miserable than if he were crying. Once again, he’d been scared out of his wits.
